Great Mexican food

Some friends of our son recommended this hidden gem! We had seen a couple of other Mexican restaurants on the main drag downtown and probably wouldn't have known about this one if they hadn't recommended it. It's still downtown but just a street or two over so maybe we wouldn't have seen it. Their food was very good and their margaritas were great. They came in small, medium, and large. Yummo. Their queso was outstanding too.

A Taste of Mexico in North Carolina

I have eaten here 2-3 times when visiting my father. Food is good and the service is great. In fact, I would say the service is better than 80% of the local restaurants. Definitely a good place to stop for a bite or a drink or two.

Great little place outside

Great little place outside of Main Street. Had a little trouble finding it. The address is actually 76 Not 176. So the trip advisor map took us a little out of the way. Food was fresh and tasty. Outside seating was fabulous for social distancing.

Salty weird meat-like stuff and (maybe) food poisoning

Everything looks like it was cooked from mass-market frozen packaged products and/or came out of cans. Rice and refried beans tasted OK. The meat in the enchilda was some kind of salty weird stuff -- supposed to be beef, but I don't even know what it was. Worst is teenage son threw up his chili relleno six hours later.

Blah food but good service.

The food is just not good. My husband, who never complains, had to send his tamales back. He didn't want anything to replace it because he started feeling ill. The chimichangas were bland, no seasoning at all. The rice tasted like it was from a box but worse. The staff were very nice and attentive but aside from that would avoid eating here.

Food was ok service was bad. I got one glass of tea for the entire meal, didn’t even finish it. Waitress walked by several times and never acknowledged the empty glass on the edge of the table. No it wasn’t like they were swamped with customers and several other employees passed by as well. My second bad experience here with service. No tip and no positive review.

Worst margarita in my life! Food was impressive either.

Worst margaritas I've ever had! I've never left an unfinished margarita in my life on a table. This was a first one I couldn't finish. Tasted like a margarita wine, not sure it was tequila. The sever assured me it was, no way I believe him. He said it was two shots... yeah two shots of lime water syrup. I paid 12. 50 each for that junk!!! Food was just ok. I do not recommend.

Standard fare Americanized Mexican dinner. Would’ve liked a little more spice to the salsa but overall was good. We were given a bowl of hotter sauce when requested. Very reasonable prices.

Didn't Enjoy Lunch

Ate lunch Thursday 11/14/19 at 1:15. Two other tables occupied. Staff standing around bar hollered "sit anywhere." Floor was sloped to the point uncomfortable. Menu was typical quick Mexican menu that is overwhelming with combination choices. Picked a salad and taquitos. Both were delivered with the tortillas seriously over cooked, very dark around the edges. We asked another server if they appeared overcooked and he agreed. Then there was a conference between all the staff before the original server returned to take them back. Then the food was good, but we never saw server #1 again. Guy at register was unconcerned when I raised the issue of odd service. Then I asked why the menu listed 4 taquitos and I got three. He handed me $1.25 and said there was "confusion" about my order. Weirdest and worst customer service ever.
