Some friends of our son recommended this hidden gem! We had seen a couple of other Mexican restaurants on the main drag downtown and probably wouldn't have known about this one if they hadn't recommended it. It's still downtown but just a street or two...over so maybe we wouldn't have seen it. Their food was very good and their margaritas were great. They came in small, medium, and large. Yummo. Their queso was outstanding too.More

Standard fare Americanized Mexican dinner. Would’ve liked a little more spice to the salsa but overall was good. We were given a bowl of hotter sauce when requested. Very reasonable prices.

No complaints here. Clean atmosphere. Pretty good Mexican food. Salsa chorizo dip and chips were also very good.

Ate lunch Thursday 11/14/19 at 1:15. Two other tables occupied. Staff standing around bar hollered "sit anywhere." Floor was sloped to the point uncomfortable. Menu was typical quick Mexican menu that is overwhelming with combination choices. Picked a salad and taquitos. Both were delivered with...the tortillas seriously over cooked, very dark around the edges. We asked another server if they appeared overcooked and he agreed. Then there was a conference between all the staff before the original server returned to take them back. Then the food was good, but we never saw server #1 again. Guy at register was unconcerned when I raised the issue of odd service. Then I asked why the menu listed 4 taquitos and I got three. He handed me $1.25 and said there was "confusion" about my order. Weirdest and worst customer service ever.More

My husband and I had an evening meal there tonight; I can’t call it dinner; it was disgusting. We arrived to no welcome at eight pm and seated ourselves. My husband ordered taco salad and I had chicken soup; these are our standard orders in...Mexican restaurants. My husband’s salad arrived long before my soup, which was nothing but chicken broth and some immediately defrosted chunks of chicken that were totally tasteless. My husband’s taco salad with beef was bland. Service was lacking. Our waitress visited with another booth and finally my husband had to walk down to her and ask for the check. We left no tip because the service was as unacceptable as the food. Our swan song at this restaurant!More

We ate here on Friday, June 14th. We arrived early evening, right around 5pm. We were seated immediately and lots of chips and salsa were brought out to our table of six people. I really loved the chips. Hot and fresh! The salsa was made...from scratch and tasty. I ordered combo #4 which was 2 tacos, an enchilada, and one other thing. I cleared my plate rather quickly. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals as well. I would definitely stop in again if I was in the area. There was a musician who started to sing and play a guitar, but we were done after two or three songs so didn't hear much of him, but it was nice. It was variety type music, Jimmy Buffet, etc.More

Food was below average. Wait staff friendly. I’m not sure if the host has no personality or is just rude. Probably both. She is consistent third time I’ve been in there and she is rude to everyone. Won’t be back.

We always enjoy our food at El Ranchero when visiting Brevard. The food, and staff stay consistent. We enjoy the variety of the selections and prices.

We intended to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant which is Plaza Giarabaldi on Main Street, but they were closed. We made the mistake of going to El Ranchero. The food was very bland tasting. We ordered a variety of things from burritos to taco...salad to enchiladas to fajitas, etc. It was all awful! The big surprise came when my son's girlfriend ordered guacamole and received, maybe, a tablespoon of it and they charged an additional $3.50!!! And worse yet, we were all fighting to use the restroom when we got home! If you want GREAT service, large portions, and delicious food, I urge you to try Plaza Giarabaldi. El Ranchero is on the list to NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!More
