Magpie is one of our favorite hometown restaurants! The restaurant is located in the Lumber Arts District of Brevard, has an eclectic, friendly, and warm vibe with a fabulous outdoor space. The food melds mountain cool with Southern deliciousness. Our favorites are the pulled pork...sandwiches, the mac-n-cheese, the fried okra, and all the fabulous local brews. Locals love Magpie.More
We ordered curbside pickup today. It was VERY expensive, only a limited menu was offered, and the food was not good. My husband has eaten at the restaurant previously and really enjoyed it. The food we received today was nothing I’d go back for. The...smoked sausage was good, but a link and a half was all we got for $8 (no sides). We ordered a kids rib meal, which came with 2 ribs that were so overcoooked that you couldn’t chew the meat. The corn fritters had no flavor, other than a slightly burnt taste because they were overcooked. The collared greens tasted as if they had no seasoning other than vinegar. We were overcharged for the peach pies (menu says $6, but we were charged $20 for 2) and they were terrible. No one could even eat them, so both went in the garbage. I was really disappointed. For almost $80, I expected better...More
Was suprised to find this gem tucked away on a side street. The food appears to be homemade and delicious. When they sell out it’s gone. The stand out were the smoked sausage, potato salad, Mac n cheese, and the best fried okra ever!!!! Oh...yeah.... the fried pie was great. The portions were huge.More
My wife and I made an impromptu stop after hiking 5 miles with our pups to get a bite to eat. She located this place on her “Fido” app and Magpie did not disappoint. I had their Wednesday special Cilantro Lime Wings and my wife...had the pulled pork sandwich. We both had Mac and cheese as a side and everything was cooked fresh and delicious. The staff was very cheerful and professional. The whole business made us feel safe as they followed the CDC guidelines of everyone wearing a mask and encouraged social distancing. Definitely would visit this establishment again.More
Five of us went here for lunch and I believe we ordered five different menu items.
Every one was pleased with their lunch. Service was fast. Not a lot of atmosphere, but if you want good food and excellent service, this is the place to...go.More
Enjoyed this restaurant. Combines great BBQ with plenty of good vegetables. Located in a small, walkable, “lumber yard” business district near breweries and other restaurants. You can spend an evening here and do several things. I had the smoked sausage and my wife had the...pulled pork. Pulled pork was very moist and the sauces were great. For BBQ aficionados, they have Eastern NC, Lexington, and SC BBQ sauces, so your bases are covered. The collard greens were top notch.More
