Classy, fine dining in Boone. Some aspects of our dinner here were very good, others not so much - so overall, I found it to not be quite worth the money. However I am definitely willing to give Joy's Bistro another try! It's a very nice restaurant, and there are plenty of things on the menu to give another shot.... More

Comfortable atmosphere, very well prepared, fresh to order, food and professional / friendly service. I enjoyed a "special" dish with perfectly sautéed shrimp on an avocado mousse with two fried eggs, toast, fingerling fried potatoes and mixed fruit. It was a great brunch combo, especially accompanied by a glass of French Rose wine. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their... More

Very popular, so make sure you have reservations if on the weekend. I was traveling solo, so I sat at the bar for dinner and it was fine. You won't see any college students here (unless w/ their parents) as it is pricer than their budgets. Special was sea bass w/ seasonal veggies and it was delish. Small , so... More

You will nor find better in Boone. Was a Joy. Clearly has an european influence... Come on I have eaten in hundreds of places but I was far of fiding this gem in the middle of the NC mountains. Cofy, small, well taken care. Polite and attentive service. The food yam! Fabulastic! For 2 years that I did not ate... More

While on a Banner Elk vacation, earlier this month, my husband and I decided to try a different restaurant. After a thorough internet search, we decided on Joy Bistro. What a wonderful surprise! The small restaurant, perfect for couples and adults, had an excellent setting: Comfy and intimate. We both had the filet mignon, that was cooked to perfection and... More

I was really impressed with the quality and presentation at Joy Bistro. We had the the soup du jour which was a creamy mushroom with chive oil. Simply perfect. Maybe the best soup I've ever eaten. Gnocchi special with ham, creme fraiche and figs was also very good. I thought it could have used a bit more salt but my... More
