If you are in downtown boone and looking for something a little different, you should check out Vidalia. They source most of their ingredients locally. It's a small restaurant with a visible kitchen and a small bar. Their menu is mostly gourmet southern and their cooks are excellent. It's not super expensive and is a good place to take the... More

The wait service was good; they had suggestions when asked. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the soup and salad were, and portions were enough to abate hunger. It was excellent value too! One thing I like is their commitment to local vendors who had provided fresh vegetables in the salad.

Comfort food or esoteric tastes, got it here. Locally owned and operated so love to support. Not too fancy in ambience but just right if you need a delicious night out. Good drink menu.

Being locals we favor lunch over dinner for dining out. Vidalia always offers good choices for lunch, great food, nice portions, and a pleasant environment. It's just far enough down King St. to be accessible when downtown is packed with students or tourists. The new outdoor area is great in good weather.

When I went to school in Boone, around the time the Earth's crust began to cool, our idea of a good meal was the dearly departed Buck's Biscuits or Chanelo's Pizza. How wonderful to have such amazing eateries as Vidalia these days. Imaginative and tasty. Moderate prices. Awesome service. Great wine. My husband and I, along with another couple, had... More

Rather lacking in ambience in my opinion. Whilst I generally like restaurants with an open kitchen, this one didn't do a lot for me as the chef and his team all seemed a bit miserable. Our server was reasonably efficient but their apparent enthusiasm seemed a little artificial. The food was all reasonable but not one dish stood out in... More

Nice atmosphere, great food. Favorite place in Boone. This restaurant has a cosmopolitan feel. If it is crowded, you can sit at the bar and eat.

Great surprise to find a hamburger on a gluten free bun. We also had chicken and waffles, mac and cheese, shrimp and seafood soup. All were well prepared and tasty. Atmosphere was friendly, clean and trendy. Service was very good and professional. Will return on my next visit.

Came here with a group of 13 people for my birthday dinner and we loved it. We ordered the Mac and cheese, pork fries, pimento cheese and fig and prosciutto salad as starters. The hoe cakes with the pimento cheese were my favorite and I love the cheese "croutons" on the salad. I had the risotto for my meal which... More

My wife and I love Vidalias. Street parking is sometime a problem. Food is excellent. Menu is limited and has a solid wine selection. Love the fish tacos at lunch and great salads/soups.
