Food was average, wait time minimal for the time of day. Service was good, wait staff was friendly and helpful

Atmosphere is not very comfortable. Food is average at best. No kids meal so you have to order a full dinner entrée for kids since they won't let kids order off the smaller portion lunch menu. Ridiculous. Won't be back unless I'm forced or really desperate for Japanese.

My family and I recently visited Banner Elk for a ski weekend and we drove to Boone for the variety of restaurants and we came across this place. The food was good, the prices were OK. The service was pretty slow and they accidentally gave me someone else's bill. The portions were generous though so that was a definite plus.... More

Cheaper and less wait time than the flames and flash of Miyabi, but the food was also less tasty and not as hot. Rice was white; no frying and no teriyaki sauce. Vegetables included sliced sweet carrots and pieces of broccoli. 'Soup' contained a single thin slice of mushroom. Hardly any flavor. The restaurant did fill fairly quickly while we... More

Good service, horrible soup, taste was like dishwater and sugar. Hot but not great veggies, stems n stalks. Dissatisfied and disappointed. Won't be back

This Hokkaido does a heck of a business. They are constantly putting out BooneTakeOut orders and the restaurant always has people in it. Food is usually good, sometimes a little underseasoned, prices are good but have been steadily rising. Service is average for this type of restaurant.

I've been here many times and it's great every single time. The food is delicious and the price is right. Much less greasy than other similar styled restaurants in town.

The food is always good and the service very good. Great value for what you get. The selection choices are ok, wish they offered more.

Disclaimer: Hokkaido is one of my favorite places to eat in Boone. They have good food and good lunch prices. However, every single time I have ever tried to order steak here it has been overcooked. I like my steak medium rare, and I have never ordered a steak that wasn't below medium well. Tonight, I ordered the combination scallop... More
