Ok so my wife ordered the pear ravioli and it was very good. I had the seafood pasta and it was ok not great. The one complaint I have is the service. Nice ambiance nice place to have dimmer. I will give it another chance. I will get back to you!

This place is near the campus and convenient to downtown. They have a nice, eclectic menu and interesting specials. I've never had a bad meal there and the service has always been nice. As I said in the title, this is not upscale, but a very pleasant place to have lunch.

Service was excellent. Food was good, but not exceptional. Garlic hot knots were the best thing we had by far. Lots of people hanging out on the outside deck on the bar side and inside the bar. Parking was easy in the lot on the bar side. Very relaxed, casual environment.

The food tasted like it all came out of a can, the inside just smelled like an old bar and the outside was a bit run down.

This is our go to restaurant in Boone anytime we go out to lunch or dinner. We have never had a bad meal or bad service there. The employees are always friendly and make you feel right at home. Its located in a historic building but that and the great food and service is what makes this place so unique.... More

We have eaten here on 2 occasions recently. The 1st occasion was for lunch. The restaurant was moderately busy and the service was very good. There is a good variety of foods for lunch, including children. The 2nd occasion was for dinner, same menu items. Again, the food was very good. The server was good, just a bit slow. She... More

Good food and service. I decided to rate this place based on the food and service and not the facility. It's a building with some history, very little available parking. You have to navigate a narrow deck filled with the smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke. The interior is plain and dated. Clearly the bar on the other side... More

Cafe Portofino is our GO-TO after every App State Home football game. The owners and the waitstaff welcome us with open arms no matter the crowd. We have never had a bad experience and frequent it when we are up during off-season as well. All of the pasta dishes, sandwiches and appetizers are fantastic. Food is always hot and flavorful... The bartender didn't see us coming at all on a slow Monday but she did a great job dealing with 6+ of us. Enjoyed being there and can't wait to go back!

We went to Portofino's for dinner last night. We are local. It was possibly the worst pizza I have ever had. I ordered the cheese pizza. It was dry, hard, and tasteless except for being too salty. The cheese was dry and didn't even taste like cheese — more like cardboard. Will not be going back there!
