Found this place today for lunch. The food was good, the person at the register was super friendly, informative and gave me a recommendation to order my Chinese combo meal with beef & vegetables in garlic sauce. I've never had it, and it was delicious. Loads of veggies, plenty of beef and it came with a choice of egg roll, vegetable roll or spring roll. Soup was also included. It was all perfectly prepared, order was ready in under 10 minutes, and they included all my sauces, toppings, fortune cookies & even plastic cutlery 🍴 in the to go bag 🛍️....an all for under $10!! I will be back.

Would not go out of my way to have again

Tables were spaced out well. Very busy Chinese restaurant, the wait for food in person takes a while because they do a lot of food delivery business. I was hoping that meant the food was good, but it was very average and tasteless. The vegetable lo mein and the veggie fried rice were both just okay. I wouldn't return or recommend.

Good food but dirty

Food was good, service friendly but employees were more chatting together than working. Came in with just 2 other tables dining and many needing to be cleared which doesn't really make for a nice impression. You get a glimpse of the kitchen area when you come in...it doesn't make you too confident and decided us to only order cooked food which was surprisingly good and with more than enough to eat. The dining area though has zero ambiance, is dirty and disorderly. It's worse than a high school cafeteria. Probably won't go again unless they do a big job with cleaning and getting the place to look nice.

Horrible customer service

I ordered an online order for myself and my boyfriend; when I got there our food wasn’t ready after a 40 minutes wait when I was told it would be done. I was told to wait outside until it was ready and it would be brought out to me. After 25 minutes of waiting, I went back inside to check on how much longer to find out half of my order was lost. I was asked if I wanted to wait, which of course I did. I was given a soda to compensate. 15 minutes later my food was finally ready. When we arrived back home finally after being gone for an hour to pick up takeout, the hibachi chicken had a sauce which made it taste like teriyaki chicken and the side salad which came along with it was missing. I called to complain and was told the chicken was always like this (when I can say for a fact every time we have gone there we have never received a sauce on it) and not given the refund for my meal. I can say I will not be going back although this has been one of my favorite asian food restaurants in Boone. Very disappointed.

Absolutely NO social distancing

Absolutely NO social distancing by or facial masks in use by front of house staff in cramped, crowded quarters! Worse, customers waiting on take-out orders also failed either to social distance or to wear CDC recommended protection. Staff seemed oblivious. Had any customer chosen either precaution, there was no place to sit and wait on orders other than side by side and in close proximity. The food was pedestrian, at best, yet expensive, given what I had ordered. In the future, I’ll stay safer, save money and eat better...elsewhere.

Tired of mistakes

I try this restaurant about every 4 months, the months giving time for my memories of food made incorrectly to fade. Tonight I took a chance, and ordered two meals via the online system. I figured they couldn’t mess it up, as I was writing it all down myself on the online form. I waited 1hr and 15 minutes for my food, only to find that, despite detailed and, really simple, written instructions, one of the meals was made completely incorrectly, with a ton of the only vegetable I truly despise. They said it would take another 30 minutes to remake and, after a long stressful day, and already long wait, that was a hard no. So, they refunded my money. I didn’t even realize until I got home that they didn’t even refund the full amount of the dinner. The refund was for 11.50, and the price of the dinner, before taxes, was 12.50. At that point I just had to laugh. I think I’m finally done giving chances. Lesson learned.

Front staff not only rude but inept.

Actually the food is good reminding me of the old Hunan that i loved...but after 3 tries I won't go back. First time dining in my friend and I were told to sit and waited 10 minutes while 3 employees stood around gossiping at the front counter, there was only one other table occupied. I went up to the counter and politely said were ready to order and was told to go sit back down and a waitress would be with us shortly. 2nd time I had my order delivered and it was missing the egg rolls which the restaurant omitted, when we called an employee told us it wasn't her problem, 3 rd time I went in to order take out and was hooking my mask around my ears as I walked through the door and the girl at the computer stopped what she was doing and very loudly yelled at me to put my mask on before I entered. I almost turned around and walked out but I thought maybe she is having a bad day. I ask if I could order something and she went back to ignoring me until there was a line behind me, then I had to repeat my lunch order 4 time and she still got it wrong giving me pork instead of chicken. The front line staff is very rude and very unprofessional, it's like customer is no longer a thing since covid.

Extremely Poor Customer Service

I have never written a review for a restaurant before, but my experience with this restaurant three times in a row now has been very disappointing. Each time I have been there, the workers have not acknowledged my presence to seat me, say "hello," smile, tell me they "will be right with me," or anything. I have had to say something each time, and when I have, I have been met with very dismissive and unfriendly attitudes. The food is "okay" at best. As I was paying this evening, I saw the cooks touching the food with their bare hands which is incredulous for any restaurant ~ but especially in this time of COVID.

I couldn’t bring myself to do more than 1 star after today. Having rude staff overrides how good my meal would been had I been treated more graciously by that one person. I will not be getting from from them again. Will go to Peppers and wait the wait time.

Quick service with nice staff. Egg drop soup was delicious. I had Pork and broccoli and I did not like the sauce on top. The Spring Roll and fried Rice was also very tasty. Great for lunch or dinner and priced very reasonable. I would try it out. With the price you can’t go wrong.

Long wait for the food, staff needs training

I went there on Saturday nite. Yes, it was crowded but didn't take long to get a seat. At least six chefs were cooking. Waited forever to get our food. Waiter, probably new, was overwhelmed, and I had to get up and get my own water. I think it might be a training problem. Went again today, Sunday, and I asked if my party of 4 could sit in the room to the right with no other customers. Every table was messy. She said "We would prefer that you eat in the larger room." I said, "I prefer that we eat in the smaller room with no other customers. So who is going to get what they want here?" A more skilled communicator jumped in, said she would clean a table for us right away, which she did. Service was slow and bungled, had to ask where the rest of the meal, doesn't this come with rice kind of thing, my order was wrong, so I waited while the others ate. I know they are trying but I'll try some other places before I go back.

Mediocre Chinese food and not worth the price.

Typical, mediocre small-town Chinese food. Had 4 dishes over the week of October 1-7. Shrimp in two of them were utterly tasteless. Beef with green peppers was a cheap cut: tough and chewy. Sauces mediocre as well. Mongolian beef was overly spiced and nearly burned my palate out: had to throw out over 1/3 of it. Save your money and order elsewhere… but Boone, NC does not have a single Chinese restaurant worth a damn.

A totally-mediocre Chinese restaurant.

Mediocre food, from soups to entrees. Visited over 10 times, trying different items, as other Boone Chinese restaurants were even worse. Don’t waste your time and money to eat this swill. Go to Sabeing instead for excellent Thai, Vietnamese and sushi /type rolls. What Boone needs is only one really- good Hong Kong chef, like Sun Sui Wah in Vancouver, BC or Lai Wah Heen in Toronto, Ontario.

Great service, tasty and plentiful food

My wife and I come here periodically. When we do, it is usually for lunch on the weekend like today. The food is always very good and they give you plenty of it. Today, I had the Hunan chicken and my wife had the chicken and broccoli. We both had spring rolls. She had wonton soup and I had the hot and sour. Right away, I noticed that my entree wasn't very hot, but I continued to eat it since I was quite hungry. Eventually, I asked our server if they could heat it up. They wound up just remaking it. This time it was piping hot. The way that a restaurant responds to a complaint is probably more important than the nature of the complaint itself. Remaking my lunch without making me feel like a jerk was an act of excellent customer service and I appreciated it. We will continue to come here.

Mundane Chinese food with no highlights.

Basic small-town Chinese food. Nothing resembling Vancouver, New York, San Francisco-quality. The owner even refused to make a dish with snow pea pods! The best that can be said is that is is a bit better than the other two Boone, NC Chinese restaurants. But the food is too mundane for me to ever revisit.
