We just recently moved to Blowing Rock from Boone, and this is the first time we've ever tried Papa Joe's, even though we've known it has been there for many years. Honestly, I'm not sure how this place is still in business. We went on a Friday night and there were only two other people eating there at 6pm. Not... More

We've been to Joe's a number of times over the past year. The menu is quite extensive, far more than just Italian as the full name would imply. Breakfast offers all the traditional fare. Lunch includes sandwiches, veggies, salads, pizza and classic Italian dishes and daily specials. Dinner expands the Italian offerings but also includes some diverse choices from steaks... More

party of 6. we all agreed the food was so-so to bad. Ziti was cooked dry, sauce was burnt. Calimari was good but that was the only bright part of the meal.

We had the supreme pizza. It was good with a thin crust which we like. I have had better, but it was a good meal for the evening.

If you eat at Papa Joe's you should probably stick with the Italian dishes. I wanted a vegetable plate and everything tasted canned or frozen including the biscuit. My son's sirloin was burned on the outside and uncooked inside. The chicken sandwich was tough. The steak fries were very good. Wouldn't waste my time or money here again.

Papa Joe's is fantastic. Wonderful food - especially the pizza. Much better than Mellow Mushroom (downtown Blowing Rock) and far less crowded. This is a true local spot. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are all excellent.

After a long day's drive from Eastern NC and checking out the Blowing Rock and Boone area historic districts. We just wanted to kick back and relax. So after resting a bit, we just walked a little right to Papa Joe's. Quaint little Italian restaurant with great service, and a pleasant hostess. We had some fried calamari too start and... More

Fresh hand tossed pizza and good service. A good place to stop after a day of hiking. The service was fast and the food was delicious. Good spot to bring kids

I should have known better when there was hardly anyone there on a Friday night. I truly can't express how horrible this place is. I do not know how they are in business or how Cindy the Waitress/manager has a job. The service is poor. The place is very run down. And now for the food. Unbelievably terrible. The chicken... More

Papa Joe puts his love of Italian in his food. My favorite pizza in town and reasonably priced. Relaxing atmosphere. A good place for groups or on your own.
