Great spot, food and location are worth the walk. But had disappointing experience with bar staff! Young guy with beard and pony tail, too self absorbed, not watching customers unless they are 20 something girls. Sooner they drop him the Better as other bar staff...were great. We will be back but hopefully with a change in staff!!More

I guess, why is it a "bistro?" would be appropriate. That aside.........a great place. The exterior reminds you of a large cabin in the woods. The interior is cozy as well. The food we had was very good, including the crepe we had. The Japanese...peppers were special but not very spicy. A reasonable (but small) wine selection - which is about 3x retail. We're usually expecting 2x so this is a little high. The highlight was our server (Hannah). She was super and we enjoyed talking with her. Very professional. (Management: she deserves a raise).More

The city is out of nowhere and a lot of back roads the way I came. The town looks like a very busy tourist area. The restaurant is a bit out of town on a side road. I have their burg and side of mac...& cheese. They charged me for the side of mac & cheese. It said the burger came with a choice of side. Food was good. Had a pop with it and cost $26. A bit much for me.More

Bistro Roca is a delightful restaurant located in a charming rustic building a bit off the beaten path. We enjoy lunch and dinner there. The food and drinks are great and the service is always top notch. Reservations required!

The dinner menu contains a few outstanding dishes. Try the Cuban Crepe, not what I expected to find in the NC high country, but it was excellent!

Solomon, our server, made our Anniversary Dinner very special!! The quality of food was exceptional, the dessert was a blonde brownie!! Not to be missed. But, the unobtrusive server was very skilled at keeping drinks filled and making suggestions for special drinks and local beers....We enjoyed our dinner immensely. Two cautions: Make a reservation and The earlier, the better chances to get a parking place close by!!!More

Lovely stop for lunch in a darling little town. We came on a summer weekday for late lunch, the service was excellent, but a little on the slow side but that was ok, we had time. Duck pie, antlers pie, and brisket sandwich were all...fantastic! Cocktails- delicious! Would definitely recommend and return!More

We were traveling with friends and scored a reservation at Bistro Roca (reservations a must!). We started out with drinks in the Antler Bar and we loved the whole experience. The bar is very speak easy and the cocktails were creative. Dinner was exceptional and...uniquely prepared. There were four of us and we order three appetizers and two entrees so we could experience as much as possible. Our server was excellent and he helped us with our choices. I honestly can't wait to return to Blowing Rock so I can return to the Bistro Roca.More

We visited with a family of seven. We sampled the roasted olives and fungi flatbread and they were both outstanding. The entrée order took a bit to come out but we had a large party...when it did arrive, it was beyond expectations. The pork ribeye...was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The trout easily bested any one you would get at the Speckled Trout. The brisket was a fan favorite. The kids went with burgers, pizza, and Mac and cheese and they were all prepared well and reasonably priced. Our server (sorry I forget his name but he was a young man) was attentive, personable, and educated on the restaurant and menu. We made reservations the next day to return during our trip.More

Still one of the best restaurants in Blowing Rock. If you are a carnivore, omnivore, or vegan diner, you will get a delicious dinner and a great experience. The servers are wonderfully attentive and helpful. Always a great experience! Try the lobster macaroni and cheese...and the hummus appetizer.More

I arrived at 5L30pm on a Wednesday and the place at that time was only about 25% full. Although I was solo, I was looking forward to a nice casual dinner. I ordered a glass of Cabernet which arrived a few minutes later. I placed...my order for the NC Trout with a side Ceasar salad. The salad arrived about 10 minutes later. I had barely started on the salad when the NC Trout was delivered. Poor timing on their part as I would have enjoyed finishing my salad first but instead had to start on the NC Trout while it was still warm. By the time I was ready for dessert, the place was filling up fast. In the end I felt I was rushed.More

This was an outstanding but unusual dining experience for me. I was traveling solo and wanted a really good meal. I read the outstanding reviews for Bistro Roca and made a reservation. I was not prepared for how busy and energetic a place this is,...but I should have expected this from a Bistro. The menu is very diverse so it is possible to just have a good beer and pizza if that is what you want, and it looks like many others did that. I was looking for a better meal and the kind and attentive waiter recommended the pork loin ribeye with polenta and it was truly the best pork dish I have ever eaten and enjoyed. The pork was perfectly prepared and the polenta with the pepper jam on the side made the whole experience memorable. I also had their house salad of mixed greens, blue cheese, nuts and house made dressing and it too was excellent. So you have to get the image of a busy and somewhat noisy environment with some people eating casual and others like me having fine dining. It was really wonderful.More

While the food was a bit pricey, our entrees were definitely worth the money. The appetisers and bistro specials seem like they might not be worth it, though. Our waiter was kinda goofy but also helpful. The only weird part about the place is the...dog pictures everywhere. However, that didn’t take away from the overall good experience.More

Would like to rate it higher based on recommendations but just can’t. Service was very good. But outdoor dining is an enclosed porch with all weather windows-so it’s not outdoors! My lobster roll looked good but had way too much dressing and celery. Hubby ‘s...lunch was also ok.More

Stellar experience. We've been for lunch and brunch and both made you want more. For brunch this time, we got the sausage pizza and lox & everything bagel. The lox bagel came deconstructed which I personally appreciated since you can make every bite exactly right!...Erica was a fabulous server as well.More

I think this would be a good place for a group of 20. Rhey have an enclosed pack deck area that I would be great for this. I'm sure you could work out a specific menu for your event if you do not want to allow off menu... More
