I’m not always a farm to table fan but this cute restaurant changed my mind. We wandered in on our Blowing Rock weekend. We were so impressed with the service, wine list and entire food menu. Our server was great and certainly led us to the...More

My brother treated my husband and me to dinner last night, and we chose this restaurant. Apparently, it has undergone a major renovation, as years ago I remember ordering at the counter, and having numerous fish dishes to choose from. The place is beautiful, but...More

We had lunch there. I wanted to try their trout but no fish on the lunch menu. When asked, the waitress said they can do one type of trout entree at lunch time. So I ordered it and it was very good. Their side salad...More

Great restaurant in downtown Blowing Rock - under new management. The space has been spruced up quite a bit and looks great. It is now a bottle shop and has a lot of beers on tap which made my husband quite happy!

I am not eating bread this month. I have a burger no bun with the cabbage patch slaw with the garlic aioli. Super fresh and delicious. Had to of course try one of their new house made barrel aged cocktails. Negroni on a large rock!...More

Should have left when the server said they were out of Trout ( it was only 5:30pm). It’s called “Speckled Trout” for heaven sakes! The Owner /Manager apparently needs more experience ordering entree quantities to be sure the restaurant is properly stocked. Ok, moving on....More

It is disappointing to have your heart (and stomach) set on a meal only to learn it is not available. We do only bring in fresh trout for our signature Almond and Herb Trout entrée along with our NC Cracker Crusted Trout. When we have...More

I've been visiting the re-launched Speckled Trout for several months and truly love this place! The focused menu covers different price points and diverse dishes and the draft beer list is probably the most unique in the Boone/Blowing Rock area!

Located in downtown Blowing Rock- on the corner of Main Street and 221- is the newly renovated and reinvented restaurant and bottle shop. We explore the roots of Appalachian food and beverage culture, and recreate it in our kitchen by preserving and reviving ingredients of our local heritage. To accompany the celebration of our regional dishes, our new beverage program focuses on terroir driven libations. The term terroir evokes a sense of place, and in our shop this is evident in everything we do. The bottle shop emphasizes traditions of fermentation practices by offering some of the best “home-grown” beers and ciders around. In addition, our wines highlight small producers from old world to new. Please note our Kitchen closes daily from 3-5.
