We held our family reunion here for ~30 of us who stayed 4 days and it turned out to be a perfect choice for food, accommodations and hospitality. Plus it was conveniently located to the hub of town for an easy walk to food, shopping and the town Arts Center. Doug & Jenny work hard to see to your comfort... More

Excellent selection of unique dishes in nice casual atmosphere. Pork chop with homemade apple butter topping was fantastic. Wife had a really tasty spaghetti squash dish that involved mushrooms, spinach, and hashed potatoes I believe. There were like 9 dessert options, all homemade, all sounded tempting. Wife had bumbleberry pie which was especially good. I had junebug pie also good. Biscuits... More

Most importantly, I guess, is that the food was really really good. We were a party of 7, and we got 5 different things. All 7 reported to be excellect: pot roast, meatloaf, trout, scallops, spaghetti squash. Several had the soup of the day (chicken, kale, turnips, etc.) and several had house salads. Both were very good. Desserts also varied... More

This restaurant is in a classic old Southern home in Black Mountain. Bits wrap around porch has cosy rocking chairs to "set awhile" with friends. They specialize in traditional "down home" Southern food of the highest quality and their desserts are devilishly wonderful.

We met a large group of friends for dinner and our waitstaff said politely that they would like to get rolling because they had another large group coming. That in itself speaks volumes about this restaurant. The menu was nicely diverse and not overwhelmingly complicated. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and we were served courteously and quickly. It's a long... More

Had dinner before a jazz show at White Horse Black Mountain. Atmosphere and food were good but service was slow. Host said they weren't ready for as many walk-ins as they had from a staffing standpoint. Even though stressed, service was professional when they got to us.

The service was great and the food was delicious! It is located inside an adorable Victorian inn. We are so happy to have found this wonderful place and are sure to return. We tried the special of the jerk pork on jasmine rice and black beans and cilantro and mango salsa. We both enjoyed it.

The Red Rocker Inn had been recommended to us, and had decent reviews on Trip Advisor. Because we were in the mountains, we ordered the mountain trout. It seemed to be poached and didn't have a lot of flavor. The sides were fair - rice and green beans. The biscuit was very good. When we asked our server about desserts,... More
