If you want a lovely, quiet place to talk, over a beverage or light meal, in Black Mountain, this is it.
I have recently been there twice, once with total of 3, other time, 2. The food is delicious and different.
Each occasion, we were..."left alone." We went to the counter to order. This is definitely quieter than other Black Moutain eateries--yes, many excellent. For "real" conversation, the place to go, quiet.
For the last two Thanksgivings, we have ordered our unbaked turkeys here. Excellent.
The fresh offerings are exceptional. And the dry-good are tempting and interesting.
Large wine choices.More
Every time we travel from Georgia, we stop to have lunch at The Artisan with our in-laws. It is a great little place that is kid friendly. Food is fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is warm as local artists display their work in and around...the shop. We will continue to stop as we travel to NC.More
We stayed in Village of Cheshire for our trip to Black Mountain. In the morning we’d walk down
to the coffee bar. It’s a cozy spot with a welcoming vibe. Good coffee, good food, and good people. Indoor and outdoor seating. Our dog enjoyed hanging...out on the patio. Good music playing. The market side offers a delectable selection of treats. We recommend a visit or two or three!More
We were leaving town and stopped on our way out to have breakfast. We had freshly made omelettes, wheat toast and a banana, chocolate chip muffin. It was excellent. We also had mocha. The market carries a nice selection too. Very friendly and good service. Our...food was brought to our table quickly.More
A great place in Cheshire Village just down Hwy #9 past the Ingles. A lovely cafe with fresh bites, breakfasts and lunches. Wonderful wine selection and gourmet fixing either prepared or ready to cook at home. Friendly and helpful too. Do take a look see,...even a lunch or breakfast.More
At Artisan we have been playing Mah Jongg weekly for several years. It is a welcoming environment for comaraderie, food and beverage. My favs: All soups, Balsam Gap, Chai Latte or Latte with a raw sugar. My husband and I also enjoy the Thursday wine...tastings and dinner. Jimmy is an excellent chef!More
Jimmy and his team have created a 'dining heaven' at Artisan. The sandwiches are unsurpassed -- yet affordable enough to justify treating myself once a week or so. Creative and delicious!More
