My husband and I always stop in this restaurant for lunch if we are in the area. The menu items we have selected during our visits have always been very tasty and reasonably priced. The location, which is conducive to perusing through some of the downtown stores, is also nice.

My husband and I decided to give this little mountain eatery a try while familiarizing ourselves with the enchanting downtown area of Black Mountain. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the ambiance was warm and relaxed. While we are 60 and not typically into the whole farm-to-table concept, our delicious lunch made us want to jump on that bandwagon!... More

Not good for gluten free even though it lists options on menu. Asked server about fries she said they were gf. I asked in greater detail if they had a dedicated fryer she said we just use the one for onion rings. LOL, I told her then the fries are NOT g-free

While I love the central location in downtown Black Mountain, the food, the local & regional beers, the (perfectly) sparse decor the BEST thing here is Smiling Dave, the bartender. Seriously this guy will make your day. One of my tests for a good place to eat is that the menu offerings are limited. For real, no one can do... More

It's with regret I make this review. The food is excellent every time. Unfortunately, the service is terrible every time. We love it so much and have tried to overlook the fact that every visit is a customer service nightmare. I believe our order was lost. We waited on our burgers for 45 minutes and the order was wrong when... More

Was surprised how delicious our salad was since this seemed like just a "pub" from the outside. Great selection of beer too. Was too bad we arrived just after the music ended. Great place for late night quality food.

We had a delicious meal at Trailhead yesterday. The food was fresh and as local as can be and presented with a flair! My husband had a hamburger from local beef and was prepared exactly like he wanted. The rest of our group was vegetarian and they found plenty of healthy meals. We had a great time. The wait staff... We visited The Trailhead one evening during the Memorial day weekend. Our family party had 10 folks so I understand we might have to wait for seating. We split into two parties of 5 tops. Once seated the service was extremely slow. I think our server had way to many tables to handle. My son's order did not come at... More

My sister was married in Black Mountain this past weekend. While we were up visiting the venue in October we visited The Trailhead and fell in love with it! The bartender is very friendly and phenomenal! He was always on top of things and very informative about the local beers on tap and the area in general. This past Friday... More
