When in Black Mountain we are most likely to eat here for the combination of great food and large selection of local beers on tap. Servers are always friendly and helpful. Most recently took a group of out of town friends for lunch and it was a great hit among all.

I really enjoyed my dinner at the Trailhead. The Balsam Knob (tuna) was amazing and the asparagus, no less than brilliant! This is such a cool little find! I will be back over and over!

We wanted to go here for lunch but couldn't find a parking spot..so we parked a couple of streets over and walked back..The burgers are great, the soup and chili was great..the beer selection was great...And Rebecca, our bartender was knowledgeable and super fun!...If in Black Mountain, this is a great spot to go!!

We stopped here for lunch while on vacation and really enjoyed the food. The menu had a lot of great favorites with a local twist. They also had a nice selection of beers on tap. The service was excellent and would definitely recommend this place.

Stopped in at 9pm for a late dinner. Burger and fries were awsome. Local craft beer was fantastic. Hilbilly band was fun to watch. Service and cost was all good. I had a great time and I would live to do it again.

We stopped in for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon (during the Sourwood Festival). Keeping to a Paleo diet when out & about is not always easy and I was pleased with the menu. I ordered Below Sea Level (fresh mussels steam in a red curry coconut cream broth, lemon zest & cilantro) and The Standard (a 1/2 pound pound... More

Burger and beers for the people. If you like good food (think burgers) and cold beer then hike on down to the Trailhead. Affordable and tasty grub. Ice cold craft brews. Servers who look out for you. This is a comfortable place to meet friends and share a meal.

We travel with our little dog-she was welcomed everywhere we went in Black Mountain. The Trailhead is one of our favorite places. Food is good, fresh and promptly served. The staff is always very accommodating and we have been back each summer for the past 3 years and still love coming here.

We tried this place on a Sat night around 9pm. The food was okay. The service wasn't that great. They ddn't give us silverware or napkins when we sat down. Also didn't keep drinks filled. Music (Bluegrass entertainment was pleasant). I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend and would try other restaurants in BM instead of going back... More

We ate out on the back patio on a warm evening, but the great local beer selection cooled us off. The service was very warm and friendly to us visitors, though the place was filled with locals. Food was tasty. Loved the kale!
