We stopped in for a relaxing patio lunch. Great selection for both vegetarians and carnivores. I had the corn and shrimp salad. Super good. My husband had the southern bacon cheese burger with fries. Great service and family atmosphere for lunch.

Black Mountain Ale House was one of our very favorite places to eat in Black Mountain....that is until today. We went in for a late lunch and about 10 minutes after ordering our food some loud mouthed drunks came into the place and completely ruined the atmosphere. This is Black Mountain for crying out loud!! Go to the Town Pump... More

Wendy, We strive to provide the best possible product, service and atmosphere to all of our guests and are therefore we are very upset to hear about your experience. We'll begin at the beginning addressing the "loud mouthed drunks". As the general manager I can honestly say that there are few things I desire more than to always have quiet,... More

Great food - had the BLT & Carolina dip both were out of this world. Cucumber mojito highly recommended for refreshing drink. Love that they allow well behaved dogs on the patio. Crowd was granola eating hipsters & didn't seem to mind us tourists - would go back in a heartbeat

We had such a good meal here! He had teriyaki salmon, I had chicken with pesto. Both were so good! I also had roasted cauliflower and it just melted in my mouth. The atmosphere is great and it all contributed to a wonderful evening in a great little mountain town!

Wonderful service sets the mood. Sit outside under an umbrella as the inside is a dark bar vibe. Go for the burger ( with bacon, blue cheese & caramelized onions) and a side of sweet potato fries! Excellant eggplant fries & fried green tomatoes as well. Great beers on tap and a very good wine list as well. Will definitely... More

Like the environment. Disappointed by the food. Frozen rubbery chicken breasts covered in pesto; the town has an abundance of gorgeous tasty tomatoes, but the caprese was served with pale hard tomatoes, a tiny amount of basil (which they could have easily grown in the planters on their outdoor patio), and the balsamic was thick but literally flavorless. Drinks were... More

This place is really not worth the money or time. Took forever to get our food. The burgers were terrible. A giant, greasy mess and there was no salt on the fries, burgers, or chicken. No salt at all. I'm sorry to say but this place was terrible.
