We found this place almost by accident..But what a pleasant surprise! We wanted just an appetizer and a couple of drinks..I had the mojito which was just as good as any I've ever had! Katie, our server, was fun and energetic! What a great place..Try it while in Black Mountain!

It was Sunday in Black Mountain...even at 2PM...every restaurant was on a wait. We got seated right-away at the Ale House. They didn't have very much indoor seating to accommodate out toddler but that gave us a chance to sit outside. The mountain view from the patio was great. The food and service were good.

My husband and I chose this restaurant based on an advertisement, and we were very pleased with everything. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the absolutely gorgeous evening. I had the small meal "Shrimp Tacos" and they were delicious! Very fresh and flavorful. My husband enjoyed the Crab Quesadilla. The atmosphere was fun, relaxing, and casual.

We stopped in for lunch with our two kids, the staff was very accommodating and kind. However, there were no baby changing tables in the bathrooms. It was a bit pricey and there were things on the online menu that were not available or had been changed/removed from the menu. They had nice TV screens and a good beer selection.

We went in to grab a bit to eat and were pleasantly surprised! I had the pork sandwich dip and husband had the Reuben! Very happy with the service and the food!

The prices here have been going up and up on all menu items. Wings special on Wednesdays is now $7 for 8 wings. That's about 90 cents each if you do the math. Most places have wings cheaper any day of the week. At $5 or $6 per glass of beer you'll be robbed here. Mixed drinks are nothing to... More

We were there with a group of 12 for dinner. The food was good, but not great. Fried pickles were very good (they are on the on-line menu but not the printed menu provided at the table), and burgers were average. The main issue was the service. We had a very nice server who did all she could to help,... More

Best fish and chips in the area! No contest! Born and raised in RI and know authentic New England style fish and chips and Ale House knows how to do it. Cold water North Atlantic Haddock in a crispy batter (not breaded). WAY TO GO ALE HOUSE!!!

We stopped in for a relaxing patio lunch. Great selection for both vegetarians and carnivores. I had the corn and shrimp salad. Super good. My husband had the southern bacon cheese burger with fries. Great service and family atmosphere for lunch.

Black Mountain Ale House was one of our very favorite places to eat in Black Mountain....that is until today. We went in for a late lunch and about 10 minutes after ordering our food some loud mouthed drunks came into the place and completely ruined the atmosphere. This is Black Mountain for crying out loud!! Go to the Town Pump... More

Wendy, We strive to provide the best possible product, service and atmosphere to all of our guests and are therefore we are very upset to hear about your experience. We'll begin at the beginning addressing the "loud mouthed drunks". As the general manager I can honestly say that there are few things I desire more than to always have quiet,... More
