Sweetie and I went to the Bakery late on a wednesday (2pm) in search of one ofthier cinnamon rolls after my brother inlay gushed about them. Upon arrival at the historic inn the bakery is housed alongside, we were told that in fact they were...out for the day of all breakfast pastries. A more disatarious blow to our plans could not be delivered. But in thoughts after the deviation, a Phoenix arose within my frontal cortex. Ne cinimainroll worth its frosting would be around anywhere before noon, Certainly this place had patrons licking the glass to get in the morning before opening only to devour the rolls like a mad band of hyenas. The staff assured me of this, "were out by 1000 am every day" she said. Never the less, we pushed on. We dispatched said brother in law first light the next day. He returned with enough cinnamon rolls to satiate us all. (pro tip- split one with some one as they are huge) The buns did not disappoint. WOW. Absolutely the perfect cinnamon roll. Not to sweet, nice amount of frosting, flaky, and dough at the same time. perfection in a baked good. Now, if you get there after 10 am and have sweet tooth, the snickerdoodle are also perfection. And let me end it all with a decree to be known to all: 99.9% of the time I hate sweet food or sugar. This place changed my life.More

We had a variety of cookies, and they were all wonderful. We wish we could have eaten more! I may have to take a special trip just to go back!

This bakery is a bit hard to find, but worth it! We stopped in for a take out bakery "fix" and it was wonderful! The breads looks awesome but we decided on a cinnamon bun and a sticky bun and we made very good choices!!...It's a "to-go" place - there are just a few tables outside and no indoor seating right now.More

Popped in on a quick trip and decided to pick up some cookies, thinking they will be easy to keep and make it home safely. They did and were very good. Next trip thru will plan to stop in again.

I have been to this bakery several times and the servers seem cold and they always seem to be out of things. I am guessing you have to be there at 7am because by noon you are getting the leavings. I asked the server if...they had plain croissants and she said when they made them, no one wanted them, yet a biscuit place nearby makes a tray every morning.Eclectic choices for pastries, blah feeling to the place and service.More

Delicious cookies and I'm sure that the pies and other baked goods are equally good. The pies look delicious.

A small step away from the main thoroughfare in Black Mountain, this quaint bakery is on the same property as the infamous Red Rocker Inn. The coffee is always hot and the baked goods are incredibly fresh. Every item on the menu is made in-house...and from-scratch. The bakery specializes in sourdough breads, scones, cookies, tarts and pies, as well as delicately decadent chocolate croissants. Atop the vintage tile counter is a display case of the day’s freshest items. Their cookies are delightful - the vegan double chocolate cookie is rich and packs a powerful punch of chocolate in each bite - the gingerbread cookies are tempting enough to spice up every meal of the day - and the rainbow sprinkle sugar cookies are buttery, sweet and comforting (echoing a bit of nostalgia). It is sometimes overwhelming to make a decision and opt for only one baked good. In addition to these items that can be enjoyed in the indoor tables (coffee shop like) or out on the patio, they have homemade quiche and pot pies that can be paired with soup for a nice and quick lunch time treat. Their biscuits and gravy are renowned by locals and a topic of conversation at the local bar after work: “I had the best biscuits and gravy this morning,” for example (a conversation I literally heard this afternoon when they were talking about Four Sisters). Many of the items in the bakery are featured on Black Mountain restaurant menus (as the business also provides wholesale goods). If you are passing through Black Mountain looking for a gem and a bite to eat, please do not skip Four Sisters. I will come back anytime I am in town.More
