My husband and I "shared" a platter of fried shrimp, with fries and cole slaw. It was marvelous! Tender, but not mush. Firm, but not tough. Lightly breaded, but not so much that all you taste is the coating. We both ate until totally full and still had fries left over! So much deliciousness for under $20....What?

Came to Beaufort for a wedding and our Hotel manager advised us about Blackbeard's for a great steam pot. My wife and I dropped in and gave it a shot. I ordered a peck of local oysters. Although small, compared to Gulf oysters, the flavor was incredible! If you order, get double what you think you can eat. I originally... More

Blackbeards is as local a place you can find in the Coastal Carolinas. This is a South Outer Banks (SOBX) gem. I have hesitated to go here, but finally gave it a try. To my surprise, this place blew my mind. The unassuming gentleman at the bar, was actually the same guy that caught the shrimp I ate that same... More

My family and I visited Blackbeards for dinner on February 17th at around 6pm. The dinner totaled 72 dollars for 2 adults and 2 children, but wasn't worth a quarter of that. The hamburger steak I ordered arrived cold, not to mention the meat contained gristle in both of the only two bites I took. The mashed potatoes were also... More

Although off the beaten track, I opted to go for dinner on a local recommendation. At this time of the year it is extremely quiet, and there were very few patrons. Don't let that fool you. The service is friendly, and it is genuinely home cooked. The steam pot was the recommendation made to me before I walked in, and... More

We asked a local for suggestions on a good seafood restaurant, and he definitely steered us right. Blackbeard's is a family owned place with very local seafood, caught by the owners. The crab dip was creamy delicious, and the hush-puppies could have been dessert. We ordered steamed oysters which came out cooked to perfection in their salty brine. Even the... More

Out of curiosity, we decided to stop here for dinner after driving by so many times. The two of us ordered the crab dip appetizer and a steam pot with a pound of shrimp. Wow!! It was a lot of food and everything was delicious! Beer was nice & COLD too! Wait staff was amazing. Definitely will stop in again... More

Crab cakes were as good as ever. It was nice to visit a familiar place and eat good seafood! It is a family place with nicely priced foods.

We enjoyed a delicious, reasonably priced dinner. Our server was very polite and attentive without being intrusive. We had the very tasty crab dip appetizer. We shared the special, a kind of shrimp pot with fresh shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, onion, drawn butter, etc., that was messy but yummy. The server brought us extra napkins, but a finger... Four of us had dinner at Blackbeard's Grill and Steam Bar last week. We wanted seafood and Blackbeard's was serving fresh Grouper and Flounder. My grilled grouper was outstanding. Two of my friends had fried flounder and one also added shrimp. Excellent they said. A steam pot with shrimp was the 4th choice. It also received high marks. The service... More
