We had a soft shell crab burger and crab dip. Great southern sweet tea - dark and tasty. Sooooo good. Excellent friendly service. Great decor. Beautiful artwork for sale.

Our party of 4 all ordered different menu items and everything was very good. The fries were amazing. The waitress, Kat, was friendly and entertaining. The iced tea was also delicious. I think it was sweetened with honey. All over, a very good dining experience and their prices were not bad either.

Food is pretty good here. Lighting is too bright. It needs some ambience. It has potential to be an upbeat great place. Check it out.

We wanted some fresh local seafood and found it hear. We were there on a Saturday night and the place was only half full. Not sure why more people don't go here. This was our 2nd time and both were good experiences. Broiled flounder, shrimp and oysters were all good. They brought out broiled oysters instead of the fried we... More

We enjoyed our first visit to Old Salt. We had the raw oysters. They are local, very clean, farm raised and delicious. We also had the calamari. Nice light flour dusting and fried well. One member ordered the ouster burger- nice crispy fried oysters on a brioche bun with cole slaw. Very tasty. They also make their our sauces (... More

The Clam Chowder was a 5, no doubt. Very Good. The staff was very friendly. The rest of the meal was "not bad" - Burgers were a little overcooked.Fried Shrimp was not crispy when it came to the table, almost like it had been sitting out for too long.

Old Salt is in the former location of the Net House. Much of the interior is unchanged. The menu is different. There was a fishing tournament going on in Beaufort & everyplace in town was busy. Old Salt is laid back, the oysters good & the owner is in the place checking on the customers.

We had a terrific time here on a Saturday afternoon. Beaufort was jumping and Old Salt was quiet, so we weren't sure whether to venture in. So glad we did. I have to admit I was lured in by the promise of Old Salt Punch. It was fantastic. The bartender's recipe of dark rum, pineapple juice, coconut, etc. Really the... More

Try the stuffed flounder! Spinach and strawberry salad was also terrific. This restaurant is not on the waterfront but worth walking an extra block.

We stopped just for a light snack and drinks. We had the hot crab dip, it was creamy, cheesy and a little spicy (as indicated on the menu) it came out timely and was delicious! I had a old salt punch as my beverage, which was wonderful, and they didn't skip out on the rum. My husband had a red... More
