I took my significant other out for dinner as a thank you for a nice vacation in the mountains of NC. The atmosphere on the patio is lovely and it was very crowded so reservations are recommended. They have home made knot style rolls brushed with olive oil and garlic. They have a nice wine list and serve cocktails. I... More

I have heard so much about Sorrento's and have wanted to eat there for awhile. Today we were able to stop by for lunch. The food was good and, Stacy, the server provided very good service. The lunch menu is not very diverse and even then they didn't have my first choice. My wife and I both ended up with... More

This was our first visit and will likely be our last. We sat at the bar because there was a short wait and the bartenders were very inattentive. We ordered an appetizer which came out right before one of our entrees. Apparently if you order pizza and another entree you cannot get your meals at the same time... I have... More

Fresh rolls, good menu, entrees all fine. Patio tables inviting. Great location. When we arrived at 7 PM a table of eight was in full throat and we were blown away by the noise. Could hardly hear the waiter or each other. Surely there is a way to soften the walls and ceiling?

We always go to Bella's but decided to try Sorrento's. We made reservations for 8 for an outside table - that was great - everything on time. The waiter was terrible. I don't even know where to begin. It got to the point that I started feeling sorry for him. He must be a relative of the owner or something... More

Thank you for taking the time out to write your review. I can only apologize for the terrible service your party received. This is certainly not what we want to present. We are aware of the problem with some of our servers, and will try even harder to get them more training, and find better servers. Thank you again for... More

Hostess didn't care about customers. She acted like we were in her way by being there. Food was only so so. I am being nice giving them a one. Don't stop there!

My daughter and son-in-law ordered take-out pizzas at Sorrento's and waited in the bar area while they were being prepared. While local brews were available in 22 oz. bottles, no beer at all was available on tap--normal for a restaurant, maybe, but not for one with a bar. The four pizzas they brought home were eaten up quickly by our... More

We have been coming to Banner Elk for a couple of years but have missed this restaurant. What a great place to eat. We ate outside on the covered patio and the temperature was perfect. Good food & wine. We really enjoyed our dinner.

I had read the reviews pointing out poor service so I wasn't surprised when tables seated after us were served wine and bread before we ever saw our server. After asking another server, the hostess came by and apologized and soon we were speaking to our server. However, he couldn't answer my questions about wine because he had orders to... More

We had the Seafood Marina, and the Cowboy ribeye, both were amazing the seafood super fresh with a fantastic marinara full of all types of clams, shrimp, calamari. The steak cooked to perfection and I could not eat all of it and I am a big eater. We also had the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were the... More
