The Voodoo pasta was excellent but $18 for the entree. BBQ pork was also excellent. We were seated immediately. The wait staff seemed very hurried. I felt guilty for bothering our server for a glass for my beer, water, and extra nachos. But he met all of my requests immediately. Good experience. It seemed a place where the locals were... More

Even though we ordered a spicy dish that was promised to be so spicy that some people can't eat it it was anything but.....it was rather an uninspired meal, and if you like this type of cuisine you will likely be disappointed.

We enjoyed our food out on the patio on a warm July evening. I had the Cajun Sampler, which consisted of red beans and rice with smoked sausage, shrimp creole and crawfish etouffee. I chose spicy shrimp gumbo over the salad. It isn't very spicy so don't be alarmed. I cannot recommend this food enough! It was simply divine! My... More

Tasty nachos , both ground beef and brisket, as well as other sandwiches were enjoyed by adults and kid. The setting on their covered adjacent to a treed courtyard was breezy and pleasant.

What a pleasant place with indoor and patio seating, serving a good list of Louisiana cuisine and that associated with the mountain regions. People who have dined in New Orleans and Lafayette, LA will not be disappointed with the seafood dishes. Even the red beans and rice was unusually tasty--if the chef had mashed more of the beans to make... More

After a great Sunday afternoon at the Highland games we decided to try Bayou Smokehouse. After being seated and told that a server would be right with us we waited at least 15 minutes and one male server saw us sitting there, however we were never approached and then watched as a couple who arrived at least 10 minutes after... My husband & I happened upon this restaurant while staying in Blowing Rock. It is a relaxed, pet friendly atmosphere and our server Morgan made our lunch very enjoyable. We sat outside & listened to live music. Morgan recommended the brisket. Our brisket salad was wonderful as was the beans & rice with homemade sausage. Will definitely be back.

Perhaps it is bc I've traveled through Louisiana several times and my expectations were too high, but I found the food to be average. I tried the crawfish etouffee , which was bland and watery, though did contain plenty of crawfish , the jambalaya which , likewise was bland, but more hearty. The gumbo was good. The staff was very... More

Food was really good, and we didn't have to travel to Louisiana for this type of cuisine! Will definitely return for the food and the cute shop.
