The reviews are completely misleading. The star rating on here is laughable. My husband and i went for dinner and were appalled at the rudeness of the staff from the moment we entered. Parking lot was empty on a Saturday night at 6pm, which made...us curios as to why. We were quickly educated. An older woman sat us outside at a filthy table. She was rude when we asked for it to be cleaned. She only cleaned my husbands side and walked away. My husband asked if there was a full bar and she continued the rudeness. I asked her if she was ok, and she said “YEAH. ARE YOU!?!?” We promptly got up and left the restaurant. While leaving we said we had never been treated so poorly and the lady and the bar tender started arguing with us that all she was was nice to us. If THAT was their version of “nice” i would hate to see them in their version of rude and unprofessional. There is NO WAY this establishment would get a Penny of my money. To the owners…. Your staff are the face of your organization and these two that were working 9.17.22 at 6pm were HORRIBLE for your business As a prior owner of two restaurants i would HIGHLY recommend action. It was so bad that the couple seated behind us got up and left too. We saw them at the fabulous dinner spot we found after this nightmare. LP on Main. The staff there are wonderful and make you feel at home. So back to my title… if ever in the area … drive right on by this place. Don’t waste your time.More

My wife and I were thoroughly dissatisfied with what we ordered there. My wife ordered an Asian salad for $8.00 and got a small bowl with mostly just lettuce in it. I ordered the plantains, which I usually love, but these were inedible and not...good at all. The chips with salsa were also just fair although the fries were pretty good. Suffice it to say, we will definitely not be going back there again.More

We came by for a late lunch at 3:00, there were literally no other people in the restaurant. We waited 5 minutes to be seated and the service went down hill from there. I ordered soup and a shrimp taco plate and my husband and...kids ordered Cuban sandwiches. It took ages for our food to come and my soup was served with my lunch, not what is the norm. The crab soup was blah and definitely not worth $9. My husband had ordered a glass of wine which was also served with his lunch, also not what is done normally. The waiter was no where to be seen and never filled our waters until after our food was served and the glasses were really small so they were empty. A very disappointing lunch for $80.More

Chips with guacamole chips ok but greasy guacamole no spices at all small amount for the money. I used to like this place 2 plus years ago. Slid right down hill to the bottom. I won't go back.More

Came in for a quick bite wanted to do just some apps tried to order empanadas said they didn’t have them yet so we had the corn chowder just so-so very bland and the chicken had to be canned or frozen. Next we had the...street corn no taste to the corn and overcooked best thing was the plantains and smoke and honey drink, probably will not return.More

My Husband and I ate lunch here after visiting Beech Mountain ski area. The restaurant is tucked away in a small shopping center, and has a variety of seating options. The menu is mostly Latin oriented, with some great choices. That soup, wow! Perfectly seasoned...with just enough heat. The Cuban sandwich was also excellent, with nice crispy exterior. Good service, lots of parking.More

We saw this place as a nice lunch spot. The outside patio out front looked like you could chill out there as they had some heaters for colder temps and quite a few spots to post up. We had a brief wait while they got...a spot ready for us. Several TVs in the area to watch the game. The bartender actually saw us looking and offered to change the channel to a game we wanted. You just don’t see that level of preemptive service much and it was appreciated. The menu had some Cuban inspired items, lighter fare, some good apps and several hearty signature entrees. I opted for the Cuban sandwich and street corn. While the portions were on the smaller side the food was great. I would order as much street corn as possible, it was delicious. They have a full bar and some good NC beers to kick it up. My wife enjoyed her margarita and she’s kinda particular with her drinks.More

Great dinner and excellent service. Had to wait a short time for a table. But it was well worth it. Our group enjoyed all our meals.

We were pointed this way by a lovely young lady in town. Great choice. The black bean soup was cream and made to order. The rice bowl with roasted pork was delicious although a little larger portion would have even better. The pork sliders with...Mexican corn was also a favorite. This is a great place for food and service thanks Caulyn. We will return.More

We love the always freshly prepared delicious authentic Cuban food and excellent service. If this place were closer to home, we would be there every week. The margaritas are pure perfection! We wait for a table on the back deck where the view is always...pleasing. Bodegas is one of our top five places to eat in the area.More

We visited Bodegas yesterday and our experience was really good. The tostones and yuca were delicious as were the fish and chips and crab cakes. I think Bodegas may be contending for first place in Banner Elk. The service was also very good. They have...a nice wine and beer selection.More

Nice casual ambience and great food snd service. Small dishes filled with exquisite taste. Cuban sandwich was a delight and well seasoned pulled pork, pickles, mustard , Swiss cheese and a slice of ham . The “yucca” cassava fried sticks were perfectly fried and soft..., served with an amazing garlic cilantro sauce . Hearty wings and an amazing Cream cheese cake with delicious guava jelly . Well done indeed . Gotta try the cocktail, Maria Hemingway! Make sure you come to Bodegas.More

Hidden gem! We pulled into the parking lot to find a local restaurant to get take out from and there it was! We got the Cuban sandwich with those delicious shoe string fries and an order of the street corn. The place was very clean-...friendly staff and the food rocked. It had been a long time since I had real Cuban bread!! Cant wait to try other menu items!More

Two words. Yuca Fries! Banner Elk is a little hidden gem in NC and Bodegas it's little star! If you are lucky you may even get a piece of their famous Florida Key Lime pie by Miami chef Paul Alcazar. It's a mix of glamping...in the mountains and demure elegance. If you are into star gazing while you sip on one of their artisanal drinks that brings out the smokey earth tones of the mountains, you will love it here!More
