My friends and I went for a late lunch for the first time and we loved it! The olive oil is amazing and so is the bread which comes out nice and warm. Carlo's on Tuckahoe is still our number one destination in Yonkers for fabulous Italian food. We took our whole family there recently (10 of us!), including my son and his family from England. Been going to Carlos for years. Love it. Last night was a bit off. First we learned our favorite salad - the Tuscan Salad - is no longer offered. Next, all the staff seems different / not sure why. Our main dish took unusually long...to come out and it was ice cold. Likely sitting there waiting for to coke out and got . cold. Never happened before. Not the restaurants fault - I blame the server. Manager did the right thing however, and took it back to heat. Offered us coffee and dessert on the house. We just had coffee. Of course we’ll still return. Every place has off nights. Still wonderful food. But we’ll miss the Tuscan salad for sure.More
We go to Carlos at least every few months & order take out often… we went to celebrate our sons birthday & were informed that there is a $2 per person fee to bring a cake! The cake itself was $10… so imagine paying $12...for the fee? We were told they need to supply plates / forks & it’s a cutting fee…it was waived this time since we didn’t know about it, but we’re forewarned we would be charged the next time….there will be no next time - so incredibly petty….we spent about $200 on dinner & drinks….not a good business move. As a business owner, why not add $1 to each menu item on an updated menu… you’ll make it up & no one will realize…. What’s next, charge for bread or water ! Lastly we were also told that all restaurants in the area are doing the same… news flash they are not… we frequent many. I had been a big fan of Carlos' New Rochelle location, so when I was recently in Yonkers, I was looking forward to going to their restaurant there. I'd hoped to eat indoors but when I entered the dining room, I was not comfortable with...the setting -- diners seated fairly closely together with off-putting plexiglass dividers mounted on tables (which science has shown are completely ineffective in protecting against spread of coronavirus and may actually result in higher concentrations in the ambient environment). So I decided to carryout. The staff was completely pleasant and efficient but the food was a huge disappointment. My Chicken Scarpariello was swimming in a greasy sauce, with very little taste. The side salad was uninspired. In retrospect, I wished that I had just done takeout from a fastfood chain.More
About a week ago on a Saturday i ordered a potato and egg sandwich which I've ordered many times before, when i got to work and was ready to eat my food it smelled burned and when i saw it the egg was completely burned..., how is the cook going to notice it and still put it in the sandwich anyway.. then today i ordered a salad which came with avocado tomatoes the romaine and some bacon , instead it was everything but the bacon and the avocado was sooo hard , really someone should be watching what they are giving to the customers needless to say myself and my coworkers have been ordering from Carlos for years ! not anymore sad to say .. The best Italian food we have had in a very long time. We were not able to physically go to the restaurant due to Covid but their takeout was simply amazing.
Went for an early dinner. When we arrived there werent too many people. As time went on the place was packed - no social distancing. Fir that reason alone we will not return.
Came here with some friends and had a very good meal. They have both individual or family style options on most items on the menu which made sharing appetizers easy. Fabulous baked clams, fresh + delicious antipasto. Everyone enjoyed their entrée from the stuffed sole...to the shrimp francese to the chicken scarpiello. Service wasn't the best with our server rarely coming by, but not bad enough to deduct stars from this review. Overall a solid Italian meal at a place I'd definitely go back to!More

Been a customer for years and the food never disappoints. Very tight so try to get there early. Food is excellent, portions always allow for tomorrow's lunch, prices reasonable. Don't go anywhere else if you're looking for bracciole! Pizza and take out downstairs is always...a good option.More
Excellent for many reasons. Varied menu with both traditional Italian & interesting takes on traditional Italian. Great service in spite of an extremely busy environment weekdays & weekends. Great food, cooked to perfection. Comfortable second floor seating if the vibrant downstairs is too loud for...your taste. This restaurant hits all the marks, all the time. I have never had a dish I didn't like nor an experience that wasn't fantastic. I would highly recommend Carlos without hesitation. Reservations are definitely recommended. This place does a very vibrant business most nights.More
