A loving nod to a road side eatery: When we were young, some of the best moments of a long road trip was stopping at a roadside eatery/ice cream stand where you always found uncomplicated food that could be eaten right on the spot or taken with you in the car. The comforting food, welcoming service and midcentury modern architecture all reflect Dixon Roadside’s love letter to that earlier time. Dixon Roadside prides itself in offering the highest quality products from local Hudson Valley and Catskills' farms and small businesses. Our menu is compromised of comfort food classics with an occasional modern and fresh twist.

Oh wow, thrilled at our lunch here. Had fried chicken sandwich with cole slaw and it was divine! Super warm staff and beautiful inside dining and outdoor tables. Great beer selection and bummed we left town before they had a new travel themed dinner program w/food and drink pairings. We would have eaten lunch here every day but they are only open all day on Sat/Sunday and otherwise open about 4pm weekdays. This was our favorite meal out of all the nice restaurants in Woodstock and Phoenicia area. Can't wait to go back!

Unique modern spin on the old roadside food stand. The food was amazing, plentiful and quick. The service was friendly and helpful.
Mac and Cheese with Fried Chicken was tasty. My daughter’s Chicken Tacos were fresh and every bit homemade. Don’t miss out on trying the desserts. The strawberry bread pudding was sooo good and made with cornbread. The buttermilk pie was yummy. Both had real whipped cream. All of it homemade.
You may order at the counter and pick your own table, but believe me, the food is so much better than your typical counter service restaurant. Extras like water and cups brought to the table were a nice touch.
Don’t pass this lovely establishment - highly recommend!

After a day of dodging raindrops and shoppers in Woodstock, we stumbled upon the Dixon Roadside Diner and I am happy we did. Great fried chicken and salmon dishes. Organic teas and deserts were very good too. The refurbished service station atmosphere was relaxing and the employees were friendly. A great place.

Was very excited about dining at Dixon’s today, but was disappointed with my entree! I ordered the Chopped Brisket with mashed potatoes — the brisket was so dry and not fresh tasting like it was made several days ago. The mashed potatoes tasted good, but the portion of mashed was small since that was all I ate. The rest of my party was happy with the waffles and fried chicken and fried chicken sandwich. The service was very pleasant!

Place was totally rebuilt from the ground up. They totally tore down the old gypsie wolf. It was time for it to go. This Place was built from scratch. Driving by I was never sure if they were building a repair shop for trucks or a huge old Carvel store. Place had a good, up vibe. Crowded and people looked like they were enjoying themselves. You order at the counter, try to get a table, and bring the number they give you to your table. That's how they find you. It was an exciting scene lots of people coming and going. Food was moderate, I had the smoked Briskitt which was tasty but fatty on plate not a sandwich. French Fries were fair at best. Meat was pretty good, Friend has the same and two others had some fish. To me Its more of fun place to go for lunch, or meet friends for drinks. Not my kind of place for dinner, but that's me. It looked like a local younger scene so maybe its good for them. Friendly place. I may go again as I know they will figure it out.

This place brings fast-causal to a new level of quality. You receive tablecloth quality food in a fun, low service atmosphere. The service is friendly and they do bring your food to your table after you order it at the counter, but this is not table service. The food is excellent and the wine list is short, interesting and delicious.

First stop on my vaca with family in New York. Sat outside in a picnic area under the trees. Our puppy was comfortable in the shade. Ordered inside & food was served. Had fish, chicken & burgers with all the fixings. Great desserts but had no room, had to get to-go-boxes as portions were large. Loved the setting & the food was wonderful. This is a must stop when in the area.

I have been watching the completion of Dixon's restaurant. First, off I am thrilled that they removed the eyesore that had been there for over a decade. The new venue is beautiful. Food: Our family has been there three times over the past month. And we have enjoyed a wide variety of their offerings. Most recently I had the fried chicken sandwich which I would recommend. Looking forward to going back and seeing how they evolve their menu. Judging by the full parking lot there are going to be around for a while.

we went for lunch. The fish, buttermilk pie and chicken were good. The beans were very dry. Overall, the experience was good and the restaurant was responsive.

The restaurant is nice. Staff is very friendly. Food is tasty but is very heavy, and large portions. Restaurant is a average price. Bar is nice and dessert is also very good.

take out equaled wrong sauces added to order, no utensils for take out, potatoes were bland, steak fries had way too much seasoning, pork mac and cheese was close to inedible without a sauce(mine was forgotten). on the other hand fried chicken was delicious but would have liked the a sauce.

Nothing mind blowing but if you are looking for bbq in the area this is probably your best bet. Roast chicken was solid.
