Neirs tavern has been around since the early 1800's. If only walls could talk, its a comfortable dive bar usually filled with local characters having a good time. Goodfellas was filmed here as well as a few more movies. Only stopped in for a drink...next time will try the food.More

This place is a little out of the way in Queens but if your a fan of the Goodfellas movie then a nostalgic visit should be on the cards. The girl behind the bar was really polite and we had some chicken wings that were...really good. There is a good selection of beers and the decor is great.More

We're lucky to live around the corner from this fabulous tavern. My daughter loves to go there, there's always entertainment for every age, from yummy food to amazing drinks. The owner and staff are amazing as well, they will make you feel right at home!

The dining room felt a little cold when we arrived and did not warm up at all during our time there. We specifically asked that the bowls of chili be served before our burgers, but everything came at once. Our server said that he told...the cook how we wanted it served, but he did what he wanted to do and cooked it all at the same time anyway. The chili (which we had to eat with teaspoons) and burgers did come to the table hot, but they were just ok. First - and definitely - last time going to Neir's.More

What a great little bar with a wonderful history! Had a delicious lunch and icy cold beers, the locals are lovely and Nicole behind the bar is an absolute treasure! Wish this was my local!

My husband and I have lived in Woodhaven our entire lives, yet never knew this place existed until a couple of years ago. What rock were we living under? I guess we were busy raising kids and not in touch with the bar scene. Neirs...is now our “go to” place. Everything about this place is EXCELLENT. The food. The drinks. The atmosphere. The vibe. But, what’s best about Neirs is the people. We have never once encountered anyone who wasn’t friendly and welcoming - from the staff, to the owner, to the patrons. Cannot recommend highly enough. Go - you wont regret it!More

Historic, great atmosphere, great staff and nice drinks. There is so much history and so many cool stories for this bar. If you have anyone visiting from out of town or if you are visiting from out of town be sure to swing by, it's...worth it. Highly recommended.More

Saw this place on a PBS piece some time back and Finally made the effort to visit it. It was wonderful. There was great history in the business and the neighborhood. The bar was filled with friendly locals a great bartender and even a great...cook. She took time to see us at the bar to be sure we were enjoying our lunch. We were. I am not a city girl but the bar and the neighborhood were really nice. I look forward to going back. Oh and if you go. Sign up to support the bars effort to gain landmark status. After all it has been around since 1829. celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1929 and should be around for 2029. Nice places and people don’t go out of style.More
