Popped in for a drink and bite to eat on a wet winter Saturday afternoon. We were greeted by a surly bartender who wasn't happy about something. Heaps of smokers out front which stank but the pub itself was spacious and well fitted out. Some great locals to chat to but the service we received on the day put us... More

Been here before and thought it was good but I feel the food has gone down hill and the front area is just for locals that wanna smoke, on arrival this place looks un-inviting as the smoke bellows out from the deck.its a shame they can't be put down the back somewhere. It's really off putting!! The food was average... More

Stopped here for a couple of pints as we were staying in Whitianga on our road trip of NZ. Nice clean pub with a large out door area which is under the shade so a good spot to watch the world go by! Decent beer and wine selection we did not eat here but saw food being delivered to other... More

Group of 6 went for dinner. Food was very nice. Certainly not gourmet. 2 had tomato/chorizo pasta. Was very nice. 2 had Seafood chowder and both said it was very tasty. Prawn cocktail and pork snitzel. Both very big meals. For the price we were charged I would say if you want a genuine meal at a very good price... More

Went here for dinner as we are locals and have not been here in awhile. Food was good, but no pasta dishes on the menu anymore, and if you ordered a burger you had to pay extra for the chips, which is a bit stupid as it used to be in the price. Kid's meals are bit on the small side... More

Went with a group for lunch & a beer. 1st problem ordered a "mid-strength" beer was charged the same price as "normal" strength, owner tried to tell me they pay more for a keg of "mid-strength" than they do "normal", well it is time for him to either inform the brewery that mid-strength beer has a lower excise tax on...
