Iconic old Aussie shack with lots of slogans and objects showing the owner's sense of humour. A big open fire blazing in the yard with tables round it. The prawns & crayfish were fresh & delicious with p!entry of lovely salad. It's a BYO place

We had heard so much about this place, and it certainly lived up to our expectations!! It is an honest, casual, family friendly and fun dining experience that feels more like going to a friends house for a BBQ. It just so happens you give them some money for the food. BYO drinks (no corkage charged). The fish is super... More

Lovely little place. Outdoorsy, but covered. A little pricy for the what it is but the food is fantastic. Especially the Fried Fish Wings and Chips. Next to look forward to is the Fish Wings Curry; which will be introduced later and which is a must to taste. I was given a tasting of this and definitely found it good.... More

This place has changed hands. It used to be quirky and fun. Now it is just another restaurant but all outdoors but mostly under shelter. Too expensive for an old facility.

22/7/16, We went for tea ( 6 people), Angus burger good, fish and chips (supposedly barra) absolutely awful -- overcooked as was the chips, red throat emperor good but very small fillet ($35) and surf and turf just ok. Salad bar ok. Overall, if this is a representation of their food, it's a definite thumbs down.

On a freezing cold night in the middle of July, 12 of us enjoyed the great atmosphere and superb food at Finlays. They even had a small bonfire in the middle of the restaurant so the kids could toast marshmallows. The pink snapper wings were cooked to perfection - and with four big wings plus everything else for just $25,... More

I guess the main thing about Finlay's is the vibe. But on a chilly winters night it would have been nice if there were some fires stoked up to radiate some warmth. Finlay's is basic. We tried scallops which were good and snapper which was very ordinary - tasteless really. made us wonder if it had been frozen rather than... More

Thanx for your input and enjoying the vibe but we have not been open with out a fire either the open pit unless wet conditions or the under cover fire place or both. Our fish is unloaded direct from the nordic star and processed direct to the plate, Unless fishing conditions prevent the boat going to sea, in these circumstances... More

A recommendation from Gero...so it must be OK. Stunning feed of (me) red throat, (her) garlic prawns. Grilled fish best I've eaten for a long time. A gritty ambiance...loved the George Thorogood background music. Doesnt get better than this. Important...byo. Try the pub at the N of town for a good selection of WA chardies. One of the great WA... If you are looking for 5 star surroundings with fine dining then this is not the place for you. What this place does offer is 5 star tasting food with 5 star ambience and friendly staff. Kids had the crayfish with garlic prawns ($50 - yes, the price is up there) but it was totally, mouthwateringly, delicious. Hubby had a... More
