Great ambience with live singers and the water show. The bald host guy was so friendly! I had the berry mojito and after trying mine, my husband (who’s strictly a scotch/whiskey/beer guy) ordered his own. They were excellent! The lobster bisque was also super delicious!
The atmosphere and decor were really nice in my view. Before we went for dinner we sat at a table and were served by two gentlemen. One was very professional and curious. He had a smile and made us feel very welcome. The other was...simply rude. He slammed drinks down on the table and was far from friendly. The drinks were pretty good, with a wide selection of cocktail options to chose from. After dinner we returned and sat at the bar by the sink. There they had an open pitcher of what appeared to be some sort of Pina Colada mix they were using to make a lot of drinks. We noticed that whenever they would work at the sink (with a cleaning rag for example) drops would fly from the rag or peoples hands into the open container. Yuck!! This really grossed me out. I doubt that the health department would have allowed this practice. I won't be ordering any drinks in this bar that don't come right out of a bottle.More
We ate here due to having not made any reservations for the evening. Nice enough bar, food menu very limited , around 6 options. Brownie for dessert looked good but was very dry and more cake like. I chose the spaghetti bol, it was a...good portion and was nice. Husband enjoyed a burger and fries. We had a couple of beers/cocktails each which were good. The pool show is nice to watch. Overall it didn't wow me and having been in other bars in the resort they are all pretty similar menus with different decor themes. Prices for what you get are above average.More
We have stayed at the Bell Rock and eaten at the Spirit of St. Louis several times before and we still enjoy having a lunch here. The food is still good. I found the setting of some tables a bit awkward - we were a...family of 4 and our small table did not have enough space to hold our beverages and dishes. And you have to wait a while... We will still go back here though.More
We recently stayed at the Bell Rock Hotel (love love it there). After a long day at Europapark, we decided on a a 'casual dinner' and chose to eat at the Spirit of St. Louis. The bar itself is well-appointed, with a casual North-American ambience....As we are a Canadian family, we felt right at home.
We ordered a round of much-needed drinks and enjoyed the sunset on the bar's patio - it really is a gorgeous spot. For dinner, we ordered cheeseburgers, french fries and caesar salads. A no-brainer, you would think. Well, our food arrived over an hour later, and it was cold. Not to mention, the waitress forgot our salads. Since it was already 21:00, and our two young children were starving, we decided to keep the food for them and we sent ours back to be remade. Our waitress was not apologetic and said it was not her fault as the bar has no direct kitchen and all the food comes from the main restaurant. Umm, that is not our problem, we only wanted our order. Fast forward another 20 minutes, our burgers returned uneatable. What the kitchen did was put the buns back on the grill, yet did not realize that what was then a cold burger was now a sponge-like bun soaked in cooking oil. We could not even pick the burgers up, they fell apart everywhere. Gross. We eventually did get our salads and they were also disappointing made with a sweet dressing, soggy lettuce and store bought seasoned croutons. *Please inform the chef that a traditional caesar salad is by no means made with sugar, rather anchovies.
The on-duty manager was quite apologetic and gave us complimentary drinks; however, this still did not solve that fact that we had nothing to eat. Unacceptable for a holiday resort. We now know that the Spirit of St. Louis is not the place to eat, rather only for drinks (and expensive peanuts ... as posted below).More
Try the coconut kiss cocktail 🍸 if you are not into alcoholic beverages, otherwise, there are many other cocktail which are enjoyable. There is also a good choice of beer and nice finger food or snacks and salads. Overall the service was friendly and prompt...leaving us with a nice memory of the place!More
Cocktails are from superior quality and the price is more than fair. Inside the decoration is sublime with picture of American stars and airplains linked to the Spirit of St Louis.
Outside at the harbor side you have the impression to be somewhere else, the...sound of the waves relaxes and you cocktails tastes even better.
Really a must doMore
