So glad to see the l'Antre has apparently reopened. We were in St Em last September and it appeared to have closed. In short a perfect wine bar; interesting well chosen wines by the glass (which can also be bought by the bottle at take away prices) and good food. The terrace is the place to be, partly for the... We stumbled across this jewel in time for lunch. The scene is just right, rustic, low-key and charming. The energetic waiter is fluent in English and very friendly. He brought us the best wine by the glass I have had in quite some time - the Ch. Guadet 2010. It costs 15 Euro per glass, but it is worth it.... More

The terrace overlooks Rue de la Grande Fontaine but you have to wander off the main street to find the entrance. The waiter spoke several languages and was charming. His passion about the wine was evident. The food was very good but probably not as gourmet as other restaurants in the town. The price of 17 euro for two courses... More

We initially stopped in early evening to learn that they were only open for lunch but over a glass of wine the chef and his partner generously made other recommendations for dinner. Returned for lunch the following day. Great value, awesome food and the most friendly and welcoming service we found in this town, maybe in many visits to France.

Not as overpriced as many in St Emilion. Very friendly! The waiter was in wonderful spirits and very helpful. Very good humored. This was the third restaurant we stopped at. We were ignored at the other two. This is not the first this has happened to us in France. Our lunch and the wine were reasonably priced.

We went here for lunch as it looked a bit different and in a great position over looking the village. The food was good value, but just kind of ok.... Crumbed chicken and chips ....certainly not a meal we will remember for the food. Amazing town, and restaurant environment quite unusual - essentially in a cave - in the height... More

Two of us had lunch here mid-week. We chose the set menu @ 16 euros and we each drank a glass of Saint-Emilion grand cru wine, and two coffees. The total bill was 52 euros. The restaurant was very busy with people queuing to get in but service was efficient and very friendly. The food was straightforward but good and... More

A small haven of peace away from the touristic places of Saint Emilion. Excellent welcome and selection of wine and food.

In parts, Saint Emilion is a bit of a tourist trap, which is why my wife and I were so glad to discover this restaurant hidden away from the more crowded parts of town. We were there for lunch, and there was a good selection of interesting local wine and food. My wife had the salmon gravelax and I had... More

The restaurant looked very nice and cosy in an ale stone house, but inside there was a heavy smell of food, the waiters very arrogant and food tasted too average
