This was our third visit to this restaurant over 2-3 years. We both felt that the portion size for the lobster roll has declined significantly. With the lobster roll, was about one-third cup of coleslaw and a bag of chips. We didn't think our dinner was worth $23, especially since we've heard that there is an oversupply of lobsters on the East coast. My husband considered the 2-pound lobster, but the MKT price was $65. Other restaurants in Ocean City were advertising one pound lobsters for $20.

We were at this restaurant after a few years with a large family crowd. we absolutely loved it the first time. This time was not good. While the ambiance was view was nice, the service and food nothing like the first time. Our waiter had a somewhat annoyed manner, wasn't aware of gluten free options at first, was hard to get his attention. The steamers were ordinary. A few of us ordered lobster rolls. They were definitely smaller than we remembered and were lacking in lobster. The rolls were only cut halfway through with the lobster on top giving the appearance that there was more lobster in them. When we finally got the waiter's attention, the manager pleasantly had them refilled properly. After all the food was served, the waiter then brought over a bowl of rolls. We skipped dessert. Not worth a return trip with all the other choices around.

My husband and I had a Fantastic seafood combo salad , which we took to go on Wednesday. It had shrimp salad(8 large shrimp) and Lobster salad ( large chunks ) both lightly dressed, on salad greens, with fresh berries and salad veggies. $26.00 each . well worth it. More a dinner size. Very delicious!

We had a 55th Birthday celebration at the Shanty with 25 guests. Our server Jen was the best I have ever had, Jen was attentive to each and everyone of us, she never made a mistake in our orders, even when we changed some of them for other menu choices. Our drinks arrived in a timely manner and the food came so that we ate all at once, amazing. I made a request to Jen to serve our birthday guest a slice of cake so that we could sing happy birthday and she presented her with the most delicious dessert filled with ice cream, whipped cream and fruits enough for one whole table. Thank you Jen, for making our friend's birthday and all of us so happy!

The service was good and the food was decent , although overpriced for the quality of the food. To note, the onsite menu is VERY different from the online by both offerings (fewer) and price (higher). The happy hour seemed to be good for drink prices but the drinks were watered down, but not so much for food. Gorgeous views of marsh,

This was my first time here for a Sunday happy hour lunch. We met with another couple at their outside bar overlooking the bay area. The other couple was here first so they held our two bar stools prior to our arrival. The bar stools here don’t have supporting backs, therefore, are not so comfortable compared to other bar stools with supporting backs at other bars. The views of the bay were spectacular. I started with and enjoyed two of their Outlaw Rum Runners with white rum, blackberry brandy, orange and pineapple with a Myers floater for $10 each. I also enjoyed my lobster quesadilla with chunky lobster, green onions, mushrooms and three cheeses with a side of house made pico, sour cream and guacamole for $23. Our bartender Ben was very effective to serve our needs. My total bill was $72 less gratuities. We agreed we will continue to visit here for happy hour and more happy hour lobster lunches.

As you can see from my first and last review in September I enjoyed my happy hour lunch last time. I returned here again for Sunday happy hour lunch in October. Only one table was occupied in the bar area, when we arrived. The two of us sat at their high top table to the left of the bar overlooking the bay. The high tops have stools with back supports, which makes them more comfortable than the bar stools without back supports. It was cooler, therefore, the transparent plastic protectors were lowered to maintain a comfortable temperature. I prefer the view without the plastic protector, but, the cold weather did not make that possible. I again started with and enjoyed two of their Outlaw Rum Runners. The lobster quesadilla did not taste as good as last time. The lobster looked and tasted dry and stringy. Therefore, I reduced my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars, because I felt my rating should average out to 3.5 stars and not 4 stars. Again our bartender Ben was very effective to serve our needs. My total bill was $67 less gratuity. I am not sure if we will return here again, since there are so many other better four star restaurants in the area.

We wanted to sit outside due to covid concerns. They had no to-go option on a Tuesday evening, and said we could not sit at the empty outdoor picnic tables. We ended up waiting & sitting in the partially open air section, which was a nice view of the birds (though the waitress didn't know what kind of birds they were). But the whole reason we went was for the hot lobster roll. It was TERRIBLE. Hardly any meat & extremely overcooked & chewy. Very disappointed!!

As you can see from my prior review in 2022 I have been here before for happy hour at the bar and bar high top area. We were here with our friends for happy hour around noon, since they were never here before. We sat at one of our favorite high tops for four near the bar overlooking the bay because the high tops have back supports on the seats compared to the bar stools without back supports. It was a beautiful warm breezy day today. Happy hour is 20% discount on many happy hour food and drink menu items at the bar or high tops in the bar area. I enjoyed my two painkillers for $12 discounted down to $9.60. I also enjoyed my mug of lobster and shrimp bisque, with lots of silky and rich chunky lobster shrimp finished with sherry for $14 discounted down to $11.20. I also enjoyed my usual lobster quesadilla for $23 discounted down to $18.40. I ate half of my quesadilla. I took half or two slices of my lobster quesadilla home for dinner. My total bill was $86 excluding gratuity. I used my Twining’s $50 promo credit, which reduced my bill from $86 down to $36 excluding gratuity. Joao F. served our table very well. After this we decided to stop at one of our local favorites, Catch 54 for a cocktail and some raw oysters. More to come regarding Catch 54.

My wife and I stopped in for a lobster roll and a beer. We were not disappointed. The lobster rolls were not what I consider to be the gold standard - knuckles and claw meat - but they were lobster and claw meat. Very good. Beer is only in a bottle.

Just okay. We love Nantucket's (the sister restaurant) and we have been coming here the last two years but this year we were disappointed. Sat at a high top outside not meant for 10 people (please only sit 8 here in the future). Drinks are always delicious! The crushes and mojitos were good, the Malibu bay breeze was terrible! The gluten free chowder is a must. The lobster mac and cheese my son loves. Dad loves the Kobe style steak sandwich. The stuffed flounder was a little tasteless and blah. Our waiter Jake was good but you could tell they have a staff shortage, he was running from table to table. Waited FOREVER for drinks, and the check! Overall not the "must go here" restaurant it used to be. Hopefully, this is just a one off night, we will try it next year!

This is so sad…for a restaurant that was really good to go down several notches…. Where do I start? We had two small children in high chairs and when the waiter came out to our table with hot chowder, he was serving the hot chowder over our children’s heads…. We had to tell him twice do not serve hot soup over children’s heads… if it spills (I don’t even want to think about it), our cocktails took 20 mins to get. We are very understanding to busy dinner time… we ordered PEI mussels steamed in wine and garlic served with broth…. Not sure what we got was dry, unflavored mussels. Sent that back…. That came back out corrected….. seriously…. Get it together guys!!!!

We are locals and have been here twice. Location is great, atmosphere and view are wonderful. Unfortunately we have been disappointed with the lobster twice now. The first time as an entree (whole lobster), and then more recently with the lobster rolls. Overcooked and quite rubbery, not much taste. Service wasn't great either, nice server but long wait for drinks, a few mix ups with what we ordered. I don't like to write negative reviews, but... if you're like us and don't treat yourself often and want to make sure you won't be disappointed, you may want to go elsewhere. Sorry... I wanted to love it.

This is our favorite place to go in Delmarwa. The food is great and the view is amazing. The service in the bar area is friendlier than the restaurant but the food and view more than makes up for it. Highly recommend this place.

We ate dinner outside at Dawson's Hideaway at the Lobster Shanty. This is the second time we've been waited on by a server named Kevin. He has very poor customer service skills and seems to have an attitude. All three couples at our table tonight felt the same way about the server. It left a bad impression on our dining experience.
