The food was delicious. The wait staff was excellent. However, a service charge of 74.00 was added to our bill. Then at the bottom of the bill, was suggested tips of 74.00 to 84.00.
What is that?????
Years ago in Aruba, the restaurants added service charges and the wait staff would beg for tips.
The restaurants should set the prices to what they need to charge and let the customer leave the tip.
The service charge is ridiculous. It not a good business practice and it screws your associates!

We are very happy that you found our food deliciuos! I'm sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the billing structure during your visit. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our practices.
The service charge you mentioned is a standard practice in most restaurants for large parties, and it goes towards compensating our staff for their hard work. However, we understand that different guests have different preferences when it comes to tipping.
The suggested tip on the bottom of the bill is also a standard practice in the industry and is automatically calculated and printed with the bill. However once a service Charge has been added there is no need for additional tipping un less the guest wants to.
We will take your feedback into consideration and reevaluate our billing process to ensure it aligns with our customers' expectations and preferences.

Located in the Palm Beach area just a little off the beaten path. Stopped on a whim, and could not have been happier! Service was fantastic. Food was absolutely beautifully prepared and creatively presented. Flavors melted together in all dishes ordered. Kudos to the chef!!
Appetizer of the week- Stuffed Poblano pepper. We went back a second time and ordered it again. Fantastic!
Cocktails also creative and delicious. Bar was fun as well.
A new must when coming to Aruba.

Everything we had was just wonderful - from the smoked old fashioned cocktails, the grilled pseudo Caesar Salad, perfectly cooked rib eye, miso salmon, and various creative sides. Also loved the atmosphere both inside and outside.
The 4 rating is driven by the service. There seemed to be plenty of staff but some confusion on who was doing what. My preference is one attentive waitperson - we probably had 6 different people visiting our table for a variety of purposes. The table on one side of us had to ask three different people to finally get cream for her coffee and the table on the other side was delivered lamb chops and server called them short ribs. They were sent back and then came out again when the server found out they were indeed lamb chops.
The quality of the food totally offset these service issues and we cannot wait to go back.
Heads up if you are walking, the location is a little off the beaten track so just make sure you understand your route.

We made the reservation online for indoor seating, but, once we got there we were told that our table wasn't ready yet. We decided to wait at the bar and grab some drinks meanwhile. Our bartender was great, I initially told him that I didn't like lychee and he made me the most delicious lychee free 'Bichotas' through the night. From the get-go our waitress (short, dirty blonde hair) was rude, dismissive and provided embarrassingly slow service. However, we did like her food recommendations.
The other waiters were way more pleasant to speak with and actually attentive. We also appreciated the manager (or supervisor) checking in on us.
For appetizer we had the grilled scallops, they were nice and tender, not rubbery at all, we loved the grilled flavor, just the crispy potatoes on top were a bit salty. My sea bass was EXQUISITE, I substituted the sweet potatoes for mashed potatoes and they were sooo good! My boyfriend ordered the ribeye cooked medium, THE FLAVOR WAS TO DIE FOR but it was a bit undercooked so we asked if they could cook is just a little more. We were truly hoping that they wouldn't over cook it out of spite and it was disappointing that they did. One of our sides were the honey carrots, we had a bite a didn't like them at all, so we just left them there. It would have been nice if we were asked if we wished to substitute them for something else instead or if they would have been taken off the check. We really liked the ambiance and enjoyed the view of the kitchen.

Wow so disappointed in this restaurant. first of all, we made reservations for outside. Their outside dining area is not really outside at all. It has tables and the bar surrounded by glass. That’s only vented slightly at the ceiling and slightly at the bottom of the glass. It is not air-conditioned it was so hot it was unbearable. We asked to move to the main dining room, but they said it was full. We ordered cocktails and we told the waitress we wanted to wait a little bit to order the main course. She told us it takes 20 to 30 minutes at least after ordering but she could take our order right then and they wouldn’t fire it up on the “grill” when we told her we were ready. She said this process would take about 10 minutes. I think we only had three sips of our cocktails before our food came out never having told her to put the order in. They then took the food away and claimed it was for somebody else, and we said we hope you’re not reheating that when we’re ready put our order in. They claimed our exact food was for someone else. Well, when it did come out, I had ordered short ribs they came with grilled bok choy. It was so tough I could not even cut it with the knife first time I think in my life I’ve ever sent back my dinner they said they would make a new one well in the meantime, my friend had already finished her dinner .I ordered something else we had to ask them to comp us a drink. I will never go back there again. We asked to speak to the manager. She came over and was an apologetic about the whole thing.

We were disappointed with the quality of our dinner. Poor service as well. The appetizers were the highlight of the dinner but our entrees were dry and overdone. A rib eye steak ordered medium rare came out well done the first time and medium well the second. We ordered skirt steak which was well done, dry, and bland. We ordered drinks which our server wrote down but had to ask for our drinks 3 times before we saw the bartender (which was right by our table and we could see him standing around and talking and laughing with staff) start to make our drunks to bring to our table. We waited an additional 30 minutes to ask for our check as our waiter stood talking with some inebriated people behind us and ignored our attempts to catch his attention. We will not be back.
FYI: the sister restaurant LIMA BISTRO is fantastic. So sad that the same cannot be said about Azar.

Azar is a MUST when visiting the island. From start to finish, the experience was wonderful. The hostess was fantastic to allow us to move seating due to the beauty of the indoor experience we weren't aware of upon booking. Our server Ariel (spelling?) was articulate in describing the specials and offering suggestions on the menu. The other wait staff even supported the experience, helping deliver drinks, bus food, and support the service. Every bite from start to finish was delicious (jaw dropping on the flavor level). I joined an Aruba Facebook page and luckily someone recommended it. This restaurant is amazing and definitely worth a visit.

When I tried to make a reservation at the restaurant on December 27 I was told to call when I called I was told to come in the next day December 28 at 7 PM and they would accommodate me when I went to the restaurant at 7 PM they said they have no Availability. The restaurant is booked more than anything. I was disappointed that I was lied to and told to come into the restaurant at 7 PM and I would be seated very poor business. I travel to Aruba five times a year and I bring friends and family to all the restaurants on the Island, but this is one restaurant that I will not be going back to. Instead went to Wacky Wahoo and had an amazing dinner, perfect service cudoo to Heidi our lovely waitress. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had dinner as a group of 6 friends and uniformly we were greatly disappointed with Azar.
Some of those disappointments:
* let’s start with the menus. We had 2 menus for a table of 6. When we asked for more menus, we were told they were all in use.
* when appetizers started appearing, of the 5 we ordered, 3 came correctly, a 4th arrived that we didn’t order, and the 5th never came. The proper 4th appetizer arrived after we told the server what it was. When we asked about that missing appetizer, we were told it was all out for the night but not informed of that when we ordered; the server said she forgot. We ordered a replacement, but of course it came after everyone else was done.
* that replacement appetizer, the Azar salad, eventually arrived. We asked for some fresh ground pepper and were told “we don’t have any of that.” I later spotted a pepper mill on the bar.
* when the two tenderloins (ordered medium rare) were served, the server said “tenderloin medium”. When questioned, she quickly corrected herself to medium rare. Alas, they were actually overcooked.
* water and drinks were never refreshed. One of our party cancelled a glass of wine they ordered because it came after they were done eating their steak.
* we were sitting “outside,” which is more a open hallway between the front and back of the restaurant. Two benefits of outside - a motorcycle outside the restaurant caused a great deal of noice and odor, with no obvious reaction from the staff, and a giant millipede (maybe 6-8 inches long) also tried to eat there last night.
* no member of the staff asked how things were, they just brought the bill (including an 18% service charge) which we paid and left.
This was a dinner at just over $100 a plate. Perhaps Azar does enough business that they don’t need to care about service, but we do. We don’t intend to return and are telling everyone we meet at the Surf Club or elsewhere how terrible the experience was and recommending they try somewhere else.
If you had a wonderful experience there, I’m happy for you, but you won’t change our opinion. There are many restaurants in Aruba that have good service and we don’t need to waste our time and money with those that don’t.

We dined here in Feb 2024 and ordered a shared salad and two meat main courses. The blue cheese salad arrived in huge chunks (we guess it was supposed to be a wedge salad, alas) and the dressing was very cream heavy. For a steakhouse, sides are usually one of the highlights; here were disappointing.
We ordered skirt steak and half spicy chicken, which were cooked to perfection and tender. Spot on!
The decor is unremarkable, suburban.

The "Crudo" raw fish appetizer was soaked in soy sauce with an odd grainy texture. Was it fish? Who knows.
Azar burger had sickly sweet Bacon jam on it, which just tastes like a burger in a jelly donut, bad combo. A small handful of 10 dollar fries ( not included with the 25 buck donut burger) were neither hot or fresh.
The 40 dollar rotisserie chicken ( Costco, I love you!) was brined to death. Each salt soaked bite left your lips puckered.
Ah! Now I get it! The soy soaked app and over salted everything requires you to buy more of the $10 still water bottles! Which you won't get ice for.
Just when I thought dining near the big hotels couldn't get worse.
Ugh.

In fact, I personally sampled each dish you mentioned today, and I found them to be absolutely superb.
Not everyone has the taste (it shows by your chosen words for the title of your review) or the means for higher end culinary experiences. If you find greater satisfaction in other culinary experiences such as Costco Chicken or fast food burgers, we completely understand and respect your choice.

We enjoyed this restaurant very much. The wait staff was definitely on the ball. The kitchen crew was working very hard and efficiently!
The interior of this restaurant is lovely, they had a great decorator!
The food was very good and we would go back. I particularly like their corn, however, when I go back next time I will ask them to leave off 90% of the butter. Great flavor though. Yum.
The parking lot although there is a good amount of parking is a little difficult to maneuver. If you can walk there you're better off.
I had the rotisserie chicken and brought some home for the next day. My husband had skirt steak and grilled vegetables both of which he enjoyed.
We will return to this restaurant.
You should probably take out a loan from the bank before you go because it's not one of the cheaper ones.

My husband and I tried Azar out as we love Lima Bistro, another of Chef Teddy's places. We were not disappointed! the restaurant has a very relaxed vibe and the staff are very attentive. It is definitely an upscale place but not pretentious! I had the smoked rum old fashion as a cocktail and it was delicious! My husband had the 10 ounce tenderloin (Lomo) and it was cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce accompanying it that he chose. I had the red snapper grilled with couscous and bok choy - also exceptionally delicious. The menu is mostly ala carte so we ordered a side of broccolini which came in a red sauce with slivered almonds and was very tasty. the food was hot and the service was great! Dear Jennifer, thank you for such a positive review, we are very glad that you enjoyed our culinary and mixology offer, the lomo is truly amazing.. and the red snapper special that day was awesome too. Glad that Kenny left a good impression on his second day. We can't wait to see you back!

Azar is truly a dinner experience. Lovely ambiance, service is truly exceptional. Our waiter explained the menu and cocktails with wonderful suggestion options. The food and drinks were excellent. The scallop appetizer was Exceptional. It was truly a flavorful and delicious dinner. The owner greeted and checked on his guests going the extra mile to make sure your dinning experience was most divine. We even dined there a second time.

We dined here last week while in Aruba. It's only been open a short time and I am sure they are still working some things out but overall it was excellent. Everyone's meal was amazingl My friend couldn't stop raving about the lamb chops and my salmon was very flavorful. The grilled romaine salad was also a great pick, served with miso caesar dressing and grapes. They have some fancy smoked cocktails that were presented under a glass dome. Would highly recommend.
