Hands down Puzzle serves the best coffee in Zanzibar both hot and cold. They are attentive and will give details when you're not sure about what to order. Ice vanilla latte and mocha cream are a personal favorite.

Nice little coffee shop just off the main street. Coffee was good, the cake was tasty and it was quiet and pleasantly cool. Prices are very reasonable, much less than the surrounding hotels. Well worth a visit.

A lovely and relaxing place in the busy heart of stone town. Amazing fresh coffee, which they do roast their own. The staff is friendly and welcoming in a positive atmosphere, which makes one feel comfortable from the moment you enter the café. Definitely recommendable to get a short break from the hectic streets of stone town and to plan where to go next to.

We ordered iced latted and were served with drinks that had bad milk. When we informed the staff they insisted that the milk was good and that they had defrosted the milk. One of us got sick right after the visit due to the spoilt milk in the drinks.
We found the staff very cold and not willing to be friendly to customers. Very disappointing after reading all the great reviews.

I found puzzle coffee by chance and after a quick Instagram search, I had to check it out. I ordered a flat white and had a small taste of cold brew as well. The flat white was perfect and well balanced. The cold brew was really good and smooth as well.
There was just one con, I opted to pay by card and was charged in us dollars, so my flat white that was 4000 shillings which was a standard price ended up being $4 which is too much for a coffee.
Definitely pop in here if you’re serious about your coffee (just opt to pay in cash with shillings)

Been following this place on social media right from the time i was in india and supposed to visit zanzibar.had very high expectations but it was disappointing.the place is dark and dull..
I read on reviews that the coffee they serve is good but mine was mediocre, ordered a mocha but i don't know what kind of coffee was actually served to me.
The coffee shops by the beach are faaarrrr better i guess..
Also the seating is not comfortable at all..it just doesn't feel right..

One of the only two places on the island where you can find Speciality Coffee.
And the only one in Stone Town. Humble people and owner. No wifi, but it invites you to lovely conversations.
The roast is darker than North European roast.

Okay so the place looks better in the pictures. It's a bit dark and you walk further in to the place after ordering when you really wan't a place in the room where you order. (At least I want that). It would have been nice with some light and some outdoor space as well.
Anyway. The coffee tasted amazing and I don't remember what beans I got but I wanted the most flavor so it was light roasted. I also had a coconut cake which was really tasty as well.
When experiencing a really nice coffee made the way they do it I would've liked a little more info on how it was made etc. Maybe some signs on what beans there are and the difference so you can read before being asked. I would have liked to be spoon-fed with info instead of having to ask everything but perhaps that's just me!
Overall I am quite satisfied but at the same time I had high expectations because of the high grades.
Great coffee, nice people working, place is alright!

Extremely nice people, spacious place and abundant free & fast wifi! Lots of seating and no frugal 20-minute-tokens for internet (like some other coffeeshops in Zanzibar City). Generous, friendly owner and good vibe overall. Can't beat that!

I love love love their coffee and the coconut cake (must get the recipe!!!). Stumbled upon the place while getting lost in the alley of stone town. Baristas were nice and polite. The fact that they don't have wifi and sometimes the network is bad inside, made me talk to another fellow travelers 😅😆 cozy atmosphere as well

What a delightful little coffee shop. In the heart of stone town, enthusiastic staff and a passionate and knowledgeable owner, this place is a must. Being a big coffee fan I was desperate for a good cup after 10 days without, this place did not disappoint. Great coffee, up there with the best and a lovely experience altogether. It’s fantastic to see an owner heavily involved and wanting to create a coffee space and scene in Zanzibar.

Very nice little cafe on a back street that is quite cool and shaded. The coffee is of a very good standard and offer a range of options you would expect in barista style place. Some really nice cakes etc too. Good WiFi so a good place to catch up on emails etc.

Nice coffee and delicious brownie. We expected more of the comfort of the seats as it wasn't very good, but we came for good coffee and we got it. We wouldn't go here again, purely for the seating, because you want to be able to sit well, and there are a lot of good coffee bars in Stone town. The staff is super sweet.

What a find in Stonetown. Lovely little place in the enchanting alleys. My hubby is a coffee lover and he raved about the quality. I loved the puzzlecinno which was so tasty and refreshing. We went back as often as we reasonably could during our time in Stonetown.

I want to say thanks a lot to the owner of coffee shop. He is gentle and a smart man. 🙈 I looove coffee so, yes, I think it’s safe to say that it’s the best coffee ☕️ ever and a wonderful team and atmosphere.
I will back to Zanzibar only because of this coffee shop and of course of the owner ☺️ Good job! 🥰
