Superb Restaurant - Suberb Hotel ! As I understand, the owner is a celebrated Zanzibari photographer and so the food and the 10 room hotel are all picture perfect & most delicious ! Do Not Be Fooled - This is not your usual hotel restaurant- the food is truly gourmet & delicious ! We know that because we ate all... More

This was a fun spot, we climbed many stairs to the top of the roof, it was worth the climb. The view was very informative overlooking the rooftops and the panoramic Indian Ocean. My family, daughter and 3 grandchildren ordered appetizers and each order different entrees. We all enjoyed and complemented the foods we had chosen. We ordered the 2... More

Misstress of Spice is part of the Jafferti Hotel in Gizenga Street, until recently, they only served food in the lovely ground floor restaurant, but some time ago the roof restaurant was opened, and the food is just as nice there. The other pleasant surprise was that on the rooftop alcohol is served.

Roof top took a hike to get to but worth it. Stellar service and wine. Fixed menu was lovely. Quite enjoyed the quiet atmosphere overlooking the city

My friend who lives in Zanzibar and I decided we wanted to do a cooking tour, Mistress of Spices was recommended to my friend by another local cafe. What a great choice. The price is not expensive and we could choose what we wanted to cook. The decor in this hotel is lovely. When we arrived all the ingredients were... More

Tonight we had the set dinner at the Mistress of Spices Restaurant. Emmanuel served us very friendly and was always there to explain special food and spices etc. The quality of the food was excellent and the atmosphere breath taking at this roof top restaurant . The entire house made a nice impression, well kept and with lots of Wood... More

we were awed from the moment we entered the place - nice & tasteful decorations on the wall, super comfy soft benches to crush on and spend an entire evening! as for the food - our expectations may have been set quite high by the decor - it was somewhere between ok and good. Would visit again, but no spend... More

I ate here by myself on my last night in Zanzibar recently and the staff were so lovely and welcoming to me. I was the only one on the beautiful roof terrace which is positioned with a view of the surrounding area, including the House of Wonders and the sea front. Sadly you won't be able to see the sunset... More
