Locals and tourists come to the location. It was the best restaurant experience we had in three weeks, that we have been traveling in zanzibar and kenya. Our waiter was fast, spoke fluent English, gave us some extras that we didn't have to pay and explained every dish well. The local food we took was delicious. At the end we paid around 5 dollars per person and had a coconut, a avocado passion fruit juice, some tasty local bread, prawns, and many more. It was more than we could eat and you can order many small tapas for small prices, so you get to taste everything you want. Just great! We will come back. Even if you want European food, you will get a good offering.

This was the most memorable lunch of our 2.5 week trip around Tanzania. Bustling lunch spot packed with locals and tourists a like... that's how you know it's good! Well staffed and service was quick. Was extremely affordable and thus our group was able to try a variety of dishes. Absolute winner for us was the Chicken Shawarma wrap. Smoothies were fantastic as were kabobs, lentil dishes, veggie dishes, etc.

We went to Lukmaan for a 'traditional meal'. It was a vibey, busy restaurant filled with locals (always a good sign) and tourists. This is a great place for a quick meal. Most dishes are premade and can be viewed in the kitchen area that surrounds the seating area. Fresh fish gets grilled while you wait. A large selection of freshly prepared tropical juices/smoothies are available. Don't leave without a Zanzibar doughnut!

This is a must visit if you want to taste some local food which is reasonably priced. We had a variety of eats and enjoyed freshly made smoothies. We had to visit them twice as it is such a quaint little place, buzzing with locals and tourists trying to find a seat. Very popular and definitely worth the visit.

This place is crowded every day and there is a reason. This place is offering a wide options of food, juices, dessert typical for Zanzibar and the prices are so nice.
Only to mention, do not expect a luxury dinning, this place is mostly a self service buffet but the staff is also very happy to serve you at the table. You can also get a take-away - for sure you will not be able to eat it all.
If you want to have budget friendly lunch/dinner, have a loads of awesome food and meet also some local people go ahead and visit Lukmaan!

I can't imagine stown town without this place. Although simple to look at, it's quick and affordable food is tasty and covers many local specialties. This is my go-to when I am hungry in stone town because the variety keeps it interesting.

.I came back to Zanzibar for business and we had a meeting at our favorite Restaurant Lukmaan Restaurant, Mukunazini - Zanzibar.
. The Restaurant is clean, has a lovely Rooftop.
It's compliant with the stipulated WHO safety precautions :Water and soap at the entrance, hand sanitizers, clean washrooms.
As usual this restaurant consistently and constantly serves the best fresh juices, very delicious local and African foods, Indian cuisines and International cuisines in Zanzibar.
. Their pricing schedules are very affordable and you will always be served with fresh food !
. The Employees are super friendly and are always ready to anticipate all your needs.
This is one of the busiest Restaurant in Zanzibar and interestingly there's always room for everyone even though it's always full... amazing this is !
Are you looking for a Restaurant to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, then look no further and I certainly recommend this Restaurant to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

We spent 4 days in Stone Town - as we discovered vegetarian options and fried fishes at Lukmaan - this place became our centeen :) Super located, great atmosphere, and yu see what you get on your plate:) Freshly prepared avocado salad and fried fish was best for us, same as vegetables in tomato sauce. If you like to try real taste of Zanzibar - must visit this place. Bon apetit!

Unfortunately this was the last place I ate at before leaving Zanzibar after 2 weeks on the island. Sadly as it was the best I went to and I couldn't go again!
Right in the middle of Stonetown, this place has all kinds of vegetarian, seafood and regular food options. It's all ready to pick and you just order what you want from whats on show. Everything was great so pick what takes your fancy. For 4 adults to eat and drink was only TS35,000!! Amazing value, less than half of the price of restaurants on the coast.

The seating is on a first-come-first-served basis, so be prepared to wait a bit especially during peak times. Once you're ready to check out the array of dishes you might get pleasantly overwhelmed. It's an a la carte menu and you can choose fish, chicken, meat, stewed veggies and starches. So much amazing food at great prices!!

Lukmaan Restaurant Mukunazini in my view remains the best Restaurant in Zanzibar for local food specialty, sea food, etc !
I've also traveled by God's grace and I know what it means to be served with delicious food and beverage. If you are looking for a Restaurant in Zanzibar to Dine or have lunch then Lukmaan Restaurant is definitely the place to be.
Their consistence in their quality of foods served, Fresh juices, is really amazing ! You will be treated to super friendly Staff and the proximity to the larger Stone Town and the larger Island Zanzibar makes it the ultimate Restaurant to have Lunch and Dinner ! Congratulations to the Managing Director for the renovations that are currently almost ending. This will go along way to serve customers better. Lukmaan Restaurant is getting better and even much better and I recommend it to the world to use their services.

The place is hectic and there is a lot of people (both tourists and locals) and a lot of staff running around taking orders. The feeling is really authentic though and I didn't mind all the hubbub.
We got placed upstairs and we got waited on quite quickly and the waitress was really nice although clearly there was a lot of work to do. We ordered dhaal curry with biriyani rice and shrimps in some curry sauce. For drinks we had fresh juice.
The shrimps was tasty but the dhaal was the star of this meal. WOW! I don't know how they got the curry flavor so rich but rich it was. It's the best dhaal i have ever eaten and i have been to Sri Lanka and many indian restaurants in many countries. The rice hade a really good taste as well and I would recommend some fresh juice to the food cause it was delicious.
All of this cost less than I paid for one dish in most other places so the value was better than any other place on the island.
I strongly recommend anyone who comes to Stone town to go here and I wish we would have gone everyday!

We were recommended this restaurant by another couple that we met travelling, however we were quite disappointed. We knew it was going to be buffet-style and we had no issue with that. There was a good selection of meat, fish on the grill and vegetarian options. However we specifically ordered only two pieces of octopus and calamari but served a massive plate which we had to pay for even though we didn’t order it! The price was excessive and having been in Zanzibar for more than a week it was unjustified. We had much better fish on local restaurants along the beach in Matemwe or the food market in fodhani gardens!

The place looked nice, but it tuned out to be a scam for tourists. They have different menu for locals and tourists and different prices too.
The size of the portions we ordered were tiny, seafood was not tasty and the chicken curry did not taste much either
A place to forget

Not sure why this restaurant has good reviews. Every meal i ate here was tasteless and cold. They just reheat in microwave. The prices are high for this kind of service. You can eat much cheaper anywhere else and much tastier food even in a food stall on the street...
