Had a preset five course dinner at the rooftop restaurant at Emerson Spice with the wife. All the items on the menu were delicious and cooked with attention to detail. The wine list was good although the cocktail list could use a little more "creativity" combining local spices and ingredients with the usual culprits. The staff was extremely nice and... More

The most amazing hospitality, friendly and welcoming personnel, beautiful architecture and interior. Dinner served on the rooftop is of Michelin level with gorgeous view of sunset and the city. It's a must in Stone Town.

Our group of 16 challenged the wait staff and kitchen but Emerson was up to it. They have a nice wine menu but expensive. Fresh arugula salad with citrus dressing, hummus or fish cakes for starters. Then grilled chicken, fish or vegetables for main courses. Not sure about their regular menu but everything we ate was fresh and tasty. The... More

A rooftop restaurant where you can sample good food whilst watching the sunset. The taster menu's are superb and very different. Booking is advisable as it does get busy.

Great sundowner cocktails looking over the Stone Town rooftops. Manager was delightful and very keen to help. Waiters were very helpful. We didn't stay to eat but the tasting menu looked nice. Was a popular place so recommend booking in advance if you want to have dinner.

The food was really nice, it is a set menu. Try to be there before sunset as the view of the sunset os amazing. My only comment is that i believe that the place is overpriced, but i still recommends it dinner. Finally you must to have a reservation to be able to eat there.

We walked in afternoon inquiring at the hotel if they were open for lunch and we were asked to go to "Secret Garden" as small niche in courtyard with few tables and chairs. The place has limited menu simple, unexpected ingredients but delicious, we ordered for Spice Ice tea , Swahili Coconut seafood curry and Prawns wrapped in pasta noodles,... More
