I ran into this place by totally chance, and ended up having lunch before my ferry. I wish I knew this place earlier. I would love to come back and stay there for some nights. The secret garden is well designed. On that day, I was the only one there so it added to the wonderful feeling that it is... More

Our first day in Stone Town and time to pay the deposit to secure the booking which we had done months in advance (it would appear highly unlikely that you would ever just walk in). We got hopelessly lost and likely that you will as well so give a few hours of exploration which is part of the fun. You... More

Bear in mind to bom in advance and you'll find everyone is waiting for you. The only down side was the cloudy sky that prevented us from watching the sunset. Amazing food experience, topped by a beautiful location and very friendly staff. The menu is a set 5 courses and all were excellent

Perfect ambience and superb food. A must visit for diner in Stone Town. The service was first class and the seafood platter was excellent. A little oasis in the middle of town.

The reviews in lonely planet said this place 'screams date night' considering we were the only table of 4, everyone else in pairs, I'd say that it sums it up quite right. The food was very good and it was fun to see what the chefs could come up with for the day. We were able to book the day... More

I have only compliments for Russell and the team at Emerson Spice. What a wonderful, unique menu, with a beautiful setting on the rooftop. We came for dinner as part of our honeymoon and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the four course menu on the rooftop. We arrived for sunset and were very kindly given a complimentary drink to... The restaurant was in a courtyard called the Secret garden, this was decorated in a shabby chic style. Very pleasant, with pretty plants, lots of birds twittering and a bit of dilapidation. The service was good, with good info, friendly and welcoming. The food was sometimes excellent. The lobster skewers were outstanding, but the humus with pitta bread had a... More

This was undoubtedly one of the best hotels we visited in Stone Town during our 3 day visit last month in June'16. There are 2 dining sections inside, with a fixed menu being served on the top floor and an a-la-carte option as well on the ground floor. Prior reservation is highly recommended in case you wish to dine in... More

We were disapointed by the food. the ceviche was so small (only one bit), the tastes were not great for the price while you can eat very good dinner for half the price in Zanzibar.. You have to go there early to see the sunset (only reason to go there), but then you are seated on a wooden chair from... More

Dear Marion, Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're so pleased that you enjoyed the Sunset from the Tea House last Monday and chose to dine with us on your Honeymoon. Belated Congratulations - you should have mentioned the occasion when you booked at Reception and we could have spoiled you both! It's... More
