Went to LA tarvena on my last day in Zanzibar for lunch and it was the very best I had in town throughout my stay. We had Lasagna and also sea food for starter, the lasagna was really nice. Enjoyed every bit of it and also the ambiance at the restaurant is almost perfect especially outside. I would definitely visit... More

This is an excellent Italian restaurant in the Forodhani part of Zanzibar. The food os of the highest quality and it is well served and all of the staff are very courteous. They serve goos pizza and excellent pasta. This restaurant is very highly recommended.

Over rated for sure...!! Take far too long to serve the food even though they didn't seem to be so busy. Food is also average- nothing special. Keeping in mind this is a Italian restaurant the pizza's were not up to the mark. I felt like I was having cheese on toast. Also dozens of cats running around the restaurant... More

I do think that your brother manages one of the restaurants or hotels nearby if you wrote like this ... This is the classic defamatory review made for a hidden interest or economically remunerated ... Trip advisor have a big power! More

It had been over 2 yrs since I lunched at La Taverna ! When I went back for lunch with my husband and friends it was like I never was away ! Warm and genuine greetings from Mateo and his famous Father GP , and my friends had pizza that they will dream about , myself , I'm always undecided... More

We recommend the 2 for 1 pizza night, but you should probably book in advance to get a table. Don't expect to get food in a hurry. Charming staff. The carafe of wine is good value for Zanzibar

They do great pizzas here in a nice setting, but our enjoyment of the evening was hindered by the fact that we had to wait over 90 minutes for food, with no explanation. They also did not bring us the salad we had ordered, and then when it appeared on the bill and we refused to pay for it, produced... More

First time here in Africa that a pizza tastes like a pizza. If you are longing for western food, this is the place to go. For me it was like Christmas! Real Italian pizza. Yummie. The place is super crowded on Wednesdays when they have the buy one get one free, so be prepared for waiting a bit.

Great Italian restaurant in the outskirts of Stone Town. Nice selection of pizza and main courses with beer on the menu as well. Nice courtyard as well as AC dining Room. Easy to walk to from The main Stone Town hotel area. Good value for money and friendly service. Will definitely eat there again when in Zanzibar.
