It's a nice restaurant where the hibachi style (cooking in front of you) is the main thing. What makes this place a must do while in Watertown is the cookers, they are hilarious, such a great way of spending time and eating.

I genuinely think this was an amazing experience. The food was incredible and our server Asia, was attentive and polite
Our son wanted Asian food while we were visiting Watertown for the day. This place was a little dingy, dated I suppose. I had to Mongolian Chicken, wasn’t too bad, a bit bland, was served with either fried rice, noodle or steamed rice. The noodles...were decent, not my favorite. My son had the Thai Crispy Chicken, he enjoyed it, he had his with fried rice, which looked good. My wife had the Bento Box with Teriyaki Chicken, California Roll and Gyoza. She said it was good. We are regular visitors to Asian restaurants and this place would be on the lower end. It’s a Hibachi place and people enjoy that entertainment. We likely wont return to this place.More
I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Being used to sushi from NYC and LA I was so grateful that this restaurant existed here when I moved to the area. The couple that run the Restaurant Neil and Jane work tirelessly to...make sure everything is perfect. The interior is beautiful and it is always super clean. The sushi is the as good as I have ever had living in bigger cities. Its a gift this place exists in this small community. I have turned so many people on to this place and we are all hooked! Thanks for being here!!!More
Fast n Fresh! I had a nice experience here. Jin my server was polite and friendly, the seaweed salad was generous and delicious, and the eel cucumber roll was fresh and flavorful. Even the owner Neil stopped by to say “Thanks for the business” I...can’t wait to go back!More
Always ordered here since I’m new to the city. Also, this is the only Japanese restaurant on DoorDash. Service was awful!! I was able to order lunch menu from their own website. Mind you, their OWN website! Was turned down rudely cause they don’t serve...lunch on Sundays. So, why was I able to order it from their own website?? IDK. He said, I called you twice. And I told him I don’t have pick up phone calls from numbers I don’t know (I bet I’m not the only one) and why not leave a voicemail?? He also told me to go to Sushi Express instead. Which I did. Had a much better experience. I also went to try Ruyi Sushi in Evan Mills (I hope they’re not the same owner). Which also gave me better experience. Should not let those people work in the service industry. Food was alright now that I know there are other Japanese food around. Better go to Sushi Express-300 Arsenal Street Watertown, NY 13601 or Ruyi-28334 Evans Mills, NY 13637 Don’t come here. Trust me. P.S: the picture is the rude server the moment he told me to go to Sushi ExpressMore
Sushi? Sashimi? Hibachi? All available. We chose hibachi which meant we saw the food prepared, were entertained by the agility of the chef with his tools of the trade, the guests who could catch the food midair, and those who could sustain a stream of...saki! The food was chosen and prepared to perfection. My scallops were delicious. The vegetables were fresh. The other guests were equally satisfied with their choices of shrimp, steak and chicken. Prices were reasonable, service good.More
The magical combination of showmanship, surf & turf, and sake makes for a memorable night out! Get the dinner for two if you’re on a date and you won’t go home hungry (our sober).
Although this restaurant has been open for a while we recently tried it for the first time. We stopped on an impulse decision and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our initial contact was Ashley. We had a number of questions and this hostess went above...and beyond to explain every aspect of the operation. It seemed that customer service and comfort were her only objectives. This establishment is casual and open. If you don’t like a “sea lion” like atmosphere, meaning you will be catching flying food morsels with your mouth being propelled by a chef in front of you, this isn’t for you. Flying jets of Saki, which you can opt out of, were very entertaining. The condensed version, it was fun! The food was good and consisted of generous portions. We both opted for steak and lobster. Steak was cooked to order and the rock lobster was flavorful. The fried rice was some of the best we have had. Wait staff was prompt and polite. Between Ashley’s efforts and our initial experience we will definitely return.More
My wife and I were in the mood for Japanese food and found that the nearest location was over an hour away. We are glad we made the trip. 1025 Ruyi is on the far edge of town and the restaurant stands by itself and...is not very large. We just wanted a booth for sushi, but it was obvious that everyone else was there for the habachi. From the noise level everyone was having a good time. We had a back booth and did not let the hibachi noise interfere with our dinner. Sushi pieces were a nice size and very fresh and 1025 Ruyi had a good saki selection. If we were in the area again (closer than we were), we would not hesitate to eat there again and maybe try the hibachi..More
Good food. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Very fresh tasting sushi. Please give this review and photos a helpful vote.
Had a hibachi dinner. Have been to over a dozen places where they cook in front of you. This chef was the best ever, flinging broccoli through the air and into your mouth, and squirting sake also through the air and into your mouth. On...top of this the food and preparation was excellent. We were looked after constantly while waiting for our table so we never felt isolated and treated royally during our meal. Tried the $10.99 sake sampler. What a treat for sake fans. Five different sakes about 1 1/2 ounces each and each so very different. Next trip to Watertown will make this a must place to goMore
4 adults were in our party and we requested seats at the Hibachi Grill. The chef was amazing we had a terrific time watching a few dazzled us with his culinary skill. We laughed and had fun chatting with the family next to us. The...food was out of this world and more than we could finish. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Asian food and especially someone looking for an entertaining experience. Service was gracious and accommodating. We arrived at 5 and it was rather quiet but by the time we left at 7 it was becoming crowded. I recommend a reservation just be sure you've got a seat at the Grill if that's what you're looking for.More
As always the food was good. The restaurant was about 1/2 full. The service was almost non existant. There were numerous waitstaff milling about and even one standing in the dining room watching over things. Yet we waited an inordinate amount of time to order...and to get our food. We were also ignored for long periods. The most frustrating aspect is that 2 dishes we had ordered were not even provided and appeared to be completely forgotten.More
Love this place. Habe been only twice but both times have been remarkable. My husband I have spent the last two years quietly celebrating our anniversary here. This year we had lunch at 1025Ruyi and it did not disappoint. We had a variety of a...la carte rolls that we enjoy, including eel and avocado, yellowtail, fatty salmon, and spicy tuna. Highly recommend the seaweed salad--fresh, laden with delicious sesame oil...yum yum! I wish we lived close enough to eat here weekly. Don't miss out on this gem in Watertown!More
