We had a very enjoyable meal sharing a large fish between 4 of us with shrimp and octopus starters. Also tuna carpaccio starter was very special with nice garlic bread, chips and salad.
All of this washed down with a beautifully chilled Chablis at an amazingly good price of 5500 rupees.
Well with a visit.
Very friendly and attentive staff.

This is perhaps the best food we had on the island in three weeks including some fancy resorts. However, the service here is just outrageous. The waiters never even heard about the job they should be doing and will happily ignore you most of the time to run away again when you dare to ask the simplest question. Most of the waiters job was fortunately done by the chef who was nearby working at the grill place, otherwise we would probably still be sitting there. This is such a shame though as the meals are delicious! If you have enough time and patience or possess magical skills to work with the local staff I can totally recommend this place!

we visited one evening from our stay at Laguna Beach. Very quaint restaurant, they appear with a salver full of different seafood. We opted for prawn skewers to start and giant grilled prawns (still in shell) with fries and salad, absolutely gorgeous and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend a visit.

Although sweet looking restaurant -adjacent a fish land and area we were very disappointed by our experience at this restaurant.
Service was incredibly slow for what is essentially a BBQ grill restaurant.And when the food did arrive portions where small.
Prices are very unclear ,which to some extent can be understood by selling fish by the weight but also the wine prices per bottle were not written in a mneu - instead the brought a selection of bottles to our table.
Despite the long weight no apology or conversation from the lady front of house owner .Very much got the impression she knew we we were tourists and really didn't care whether we had a good experience or not .Many better paces in Trou D'eauce

After several days of average meals in a local 5 star hotel this was just what we needed. The food was simple but very fresh and exceptionally well cooked. The people were just lovely too. I can thoroughly recommend a visit but I’d also recommend booking as the restaurant was full and we saw them turn several people away.

Certainly the best restaurant in Trou d'eau Douce. Every time we had dinner here everything was fresh and delicious. They have a grill right in the middle of the garden, so you can see them cooking your meal.
Fish is perfectly prepared, octopus salad is delicious, the bread reminded me of my childhood. Drinks are also amazing and the prices really affordable.
Go pay them a visit! You won't regret! But just make sure you have a reservation, the place is really popular at dinnertime.

We arrived to a wedding scene, but we're shown to our table for 14.
This is our second visit, and from experience, don't expect swift service nor for all the food to be served together. However, you should order the fish, and only fish (and chips) which is cooked to perfection.
We did have salads and prawn skewers and samosa as appetisers, but our Sacre Chien fish was great. Last year it was the bourgeois, which was superlative.
One of the party had lamb chops, which he enjoyed.
I strongly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant seems to favour a certain category of customers who are served first. The quality of the fish is indisputable but 2 hours waiting (watching all the other customers get served when we arrived first) in a restaurant for two chicken legs and a grilled fish is unacceptable. I regret not leaving the premises when the fries and salad were served without the fish / chicken after 1 hour waiting. It was the worst experience on the whole island.

The restaurant's location was nice, like you were in someone's back yard.
The food was really good and it was great to see the grill master at his work by the grill, he did a great job!
The service was good, the waiter came with a tray filled with fish and seafood explaining what was on the menu that night. This helped a lot when choosing your meal.

Travelled 50 kms from tombeau bay to wander around Trou d'Eau Douce & stopped for lunch. I wanted to taste grilled fresh fish and was simply happy to wait for 1 hour to taste their fish. Grilled to perfection and it smelled Fresh Fish. It would have a 5/5had ground black pepper, mayo and tabasco been handy.
Highy recommended for those who like to taste fish that way.👍

We recently visited La Case Poisson, which is conveniently located near the sea in Trou d'Eau Douce. While the proximity to the beach is great, the parking situation leaves much to be desired. You'll need to park on the side of a rather narrow road, which can be challenging.
On the plus side, there are plenty of seating options available. The service was decent, and the food really stood out—fresh, tasty, and with a delightful BBQ aroma. The unique experience of watching your seafood being grilled right in front of you adds to the charm. However, the prices are a bit on the higher side, which is understandable given the fresh seafood.
One small downside was that while they have outdoor speakers, no music was playing during our visit. Some background music would have enhanced the relaxed atmosphere.
Overall, I would recommend La Case Poisson for the experience and the quality of the food.

Good ambience , lovely setting.
They bring out four choices of fish, lobster , etc for you to see and make a selection that they cook fresh. Mostly grilled, but excellent.
Poor choice of vegetarian meal, and the only option they had was not very tasty.
Lamb was over cooked and chewy
Side dishes were very limited, just coleslaw, garlic bread and fries.
We did not know, but you can take your own wine and they do not charge a corking fee.
Well worth a visit but I would not go a second time. Also somewhat more expensive than other places we visited.

At the side of the road, there is a fresh water hole. Superb place where they bring you a dish and make you choose the fish, ourites or shrimp offered on the menu.
It's ultra fresh and delicious. Grilled fish for €8.50 and shrimp skewers for €7.
The grills are made next to you outside on the terrace. A very good place, but poorly ventilated and very hot.

My friend and I were in Trou d'Eau Douce tonight and at around 8:30pm headed out to get something to eat.
We were advised to go to La Case Poisson, when we arrived at 8:45pm we were first asked if we had a reservation and when we answered no, we were told there was no possibility to eat there.
Having seeing on the way that other restaurants were closed, we asked kindly, nearly begged if we could eat there (some tables were empty), but were told that the kitchen was closed. The closing hour I'd found on internet was 10:30 pm, but 1 hour and 15 minute before the kitchen was already closed.
