I went solo for lunch twice this week and was really impressed by this place. Casual vibe on the public beach and closest restaurant to the kite surfing beach (without rolling into one of the gate resorts..). Grilled dorado fillet was excellent, smoked marlin salad was very good and chicken panini was average (limited filling but price point is low so you get what you pay for on this one.) They will only start taking lunch orders at 11:45 am. Recently started doing dinner on Friday evening - I expect it will be a popular choice! Will go back for sure.

We had lunch with good salad and fish plates.
Don't let the long queue to order discourage you: it moves fast and after you get your drinks you receive a table number and waiters will bring food to you.
Nice tables on the beach, and in the shadow.
Rs 1000 for 1 salad, 1 squid sauteed with rise and salad, 1 prawns with fries and salad and 2 cokes.
Happy about everything :)

We arrived at 12:00 to beat the lunch time queue. One orders from the black board menu and pay, and then choose a seat either under a covered outside section or under the trees on the beach. The menu changes, and so does the daily special. We opted for fried calamari, chips and salad. Although a sign states that one might wait for 30 min for food orders, ours was delivered within minutes at our table. The dishes were presented attractively with fresh lemon, mayonnaise on the side and cutlery. The service was discreet and professional. The calamari was crisp, not overtly oily, and tender. The salad was scrumptious, the chips perfect. This is the closest to the ocean we have ever enjoyed a meal in a restaurant. Idyllic! Ideal for a perfect lunch on the beach.

Great place to eat and drink on the actual beach at lunch.
It is a pity they close at 3 pm because they would make loads of money at cocktail hour.
This is one of the rare places where you can eat well and drink on the sand of the beach without spending a fortune.

Just what I was looking for. Perfect low key informal but friendly contrast to the endless flash resorts. A true beach cafe with great and well priced menu the cold Dodo beer and calamari lying on the sun bed was heaven.

An unbelievable spot overlooking the spectacular Le Morne beach.
A very varied menu with something for everyone. We ordered smoked marlin salad, burger, calamari, and some coffees and beers.
Utter chaos when it comes to ordering though! There were plenty of staff but no real system for processing the orders. So a coffee may take 15 minutes while every complicated dish is dealt with first.
But that aside, the food was tasty and the waitress who brought it over to our table was very friendly. A very enjoyable lunch.

We hiked Le Morne in the morning and planned to relax at the beach after. We parked up just after 1pm and checked out restaurants near us on google maps, Emba Pilao caught our eye as it was close and had good reviews. It was popular as it was literally on the beach next to crystal clear sea. We grabbed a seat and I sent my girlfriend off to make our order, she had the grilled fish and chips and I had a chicken panini and chips. The food was delivered quickly and hot, service was efficient and friendly. Clientele was a real mix of locals and tourists. Toilets were also clean and accessible.

Fantastic restaurant/ beach bar , prime location on le morne beachfront. Does table service or take away . Excellent menu , easy to see options on massive chalk board near service till . Lots of local sea food options, good drinks options , flying dodo beer seemed a popular choice . Open grill so you see food being prepared/ cooked . Great spot to watch the sun set .

Really affordable food, great service and a nice atmosphere directly at the beach. You should definitely make a stop there for something to eat or just some drinks at noon/afternoon while spending a day at the beach! Besides that the staff is also super friendly.

We love the set up for the birthday celebration we had planned. Kaviraj made sure we had a nicely set table and we were right on the beach where the kids can easily access to play. Service was excellent as was the food. Highly recommend.

Great location on Public Beach Le Morne with good food and acceptable prices. However, we find the fact that they close at 1530 a big drawback. Especially at sunset, one would like to sit down again by the beach in a restaurant for having a drink or else. And that does not belong to a hotel chain....

This restaurant is right on the beach, next to the Lux LeMorne. We stayed at the JW Marriott (on the other side of the Lux LeMorne. This place has great lunch food at half the price of the luxury resorts. If you're staying a the Lux or the JW Marriott, walk over to enjoy the food.

Be ready to waste at least one hour in A queue just to order and another hour to receive you food in a take away package
After long trip to reach their o wasted 2 hours and did not get the lunch for me and my family
Really bad experience and i do jot wish Ny one similar situation

5 star service , the young man who served us was amazing .He must be recommended ,service with a smile , he knew how to make us feel special and this is what Mauritius hospitality os all about .The spot is also very good .The food is on the go quick bite , nothing to complain about .
I regret he had no name tag he was a baseball peak , it was during lunch service on the 09/04.
