We deciding to have a lovely dinner at Le Capitaine which we found on the internet. The restaurant itself is very nice but the food fell short. We ordered their tiger prawns which was unevenly cooked, some mushy and some hard, 3 tiger prawns were given and couple of steamed veg and chips only, flavor was nonexistant. We also ordered... We started with the tapas which was delicious! A selection of 4 dishes. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted heavenly! Would highly recommend The main was also delicious. Me and my partener love sea food and this really hit the spot. The service in this restaurant is outstanding. They are very professional and you leave feeling well cared for!... More

Went to la capitane on a suggestion from the hotel . What an awful experience it was. over priced, food was bad at best and staff paid no attention to service. Suffice to say, extremely disappointed.

Maybe the community of travelers can convince the restaurant to increase the effort that they put into their being. First the food: I had catch of the day - grilled - which was good. My partner had the Octopus Curry and she complained that it was lacking finesse. And then the service - sleepy and at the limit of being... More

After two unlucky attempts without reservation, finally it worked out well. A beautiful place with kind and quit competent personnel. Good quality of starters and main dishes ( local fish) ad well as lavish desserts and very nice South African wine.

Choise this restuarant for their lovely setting and that they had live entertainment. The food, however we found pricy and average. For starters we sampled all the tapas dishes, mains we tried a mauritean dish which was underspiced and very tough chicken breast. My daughters fish in vine was chewy and tasteless. Perhaps its best to do research on what... More

Apparently this is the most popular fish restaurant in Grand Bay in Mauritius. But we were very disappointed with the food and the service. We ordered some very special wines and the waiter forgot about us and we had to serve ourselves. We ordered the fish platter for 7 people. Although the most expensive on the menu the fish was... Visited just before Xmas 2016 with our children and partners (8 total). Service was good, food tasty. We shared the tapas which were very good then all had a main. One thing that was a little annoying was the terrible sounding fan above our table. The fact that we booked the table earlier and when we arrived the restaurant was... More

We stayed at the Royal Palm and wanted to try a local restaurant. Tried the various starters - good but not great, the a chicken curry - tender chicken and a delicate curry. The South African chardonay from the Meerlust estate was fantastic and a good price. This is one of the better places.

The restaurant is located in a great spot next to the water in the grand Baie , the server was extremely friendly and helpful. We had their calamari and chili peppers stuffed with Tuna, lamb kofta, and fish cakes. All these tapas were excellent. Main coarse we had dorado(fish) in banana leaf was tasty but a little over cooked. Seafood... More
