Calissa will mark the newest venture from the team behind Amali, Il Cantinori, and Periyali in New York City. The conceptual development for the restaurant was inspired by the Greek Aegean Islands and the menu features a variety of small and large shareable plates, all of which highlight local Long Island seafood and vegetables.

I went to Calissa for dinner with two other couples and the food was relatively good, but it wasn't worth the money. The place itself is cute and the service was fine but the prices are just obnoxious; $17 for a cocktail, $20 for appetizers/salads,...More

This was our go to restaurant for birthday celebrations. No longer. While some food is still excellent - it has become hit or miss. We ordered olives as part of a pre-appetizer $8/9 and they were truly awful. We have had them here before and...More

My experience compared to my original visit was dramatically improved and this restaurant is certainly worthy of a visit. We were a table of 8 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy and the service was attentive. Our server was Karen, who was...More

I have been with my friends. Everything is really complicated. Like we waited 2 hours to they bring the food. The place are amazing the song too. But the service is awful.

The atmosphere of this place is truly unique. Growing up with greek influence in my family and to then visit Athens and Mykonos, I felt that inspiration immediately in this restaurant. The staff is very kind and knowledgable with soms circulating the floor answering any...More

Initially entering, the restaurant is pleasant looking with a long bar on the left. We were led to a table in the rear that was dark and mediocre with a window looking out to the beautiful outside seating, which I would recommend trying to reserve....More

We ordered the calamari, farro salad and sea bass all of which were delicious. The portions were also generous and we did not leave hungry like some other restaurants in the area. I will definitely go back.

Thank you for your kind review. I am glad you liked the portion size - it was by design. Should you join us again please let me know - james@amalinyc.com

We went for dinner at the recommendation of a family member. There is a striking indoor/outdoor bar area that sadly we did not have time to take advantage of. It is well-positioned so the outside portion of it is in the shade in the afternoon,...More

Where do I even begin. Let me start by saying do not go here. This restaurant deserves negative ten stars. I made a reservation for my birthday at 7:15pm. We arrived at 7:20pm and they said they were setting the table. We got drinks outside...More

The food: richly flavorful, but it never felt heavy. Our lively group got a round of some lovely dips and some other apps (the octopus was tender and juicy), and then we got our meals to share for the table. The kalamaki was the winner...More
