We here in the Triple Cities, the center of the spiedie world where it was "invented" love our spiedies (specially marinated meat, originally lamb but now beef, pork or chicken) so when friends come to town and want to eat a local dish, a hometown favorite, you take them to a restaurant specializing in spiedies, one of over a dozen... They serve both chicken and pork Spiedies. Would be nice if they served the original lamb as well. 6" or 12" sandwiches (subs) as well as Spiedie salads. They also offer fries and onion rings for sides. Fast service & very reasonably priced.

Great food...nice combinations of spiedie sandwiches. Very fast service. Popular place so might not be able to find a seat at lunch.

Went looking for some place for lunch and consulted Trip Advisor. Specie and Rib Pit was recommended by many others so I figured "Why not?" Good choice, I must say. I had never heard of this local favorite which is marinated meat in a sub roll. It's easy to see why this place and that sandwich is so popular.

Being from the Midwest, a spiedie sandwich was an unknown to me. Meat (chicken, pork, beef or lamb) is cubed, marinated in liquid and spices, and then grilled. It is then served on a subway sandwich type roll. Delicious! Counter service was fast and friendly, and the place was spotlessly clean. It was quiet at mid afternoon, with only a... More

The food is a tad bit overpriced for what you get. The location is nothing special. This restaurant was much better 5 years ago!

Went here for lunch and we were amazed at how good it was! this is bare bones dining, but the food is so good! We got a cheesesteak and chicken spiedie to split. The spiedie was so good we got another one! The couple we were with got pork spiedies. The food was good, fast and reasonable. We were going... More

This place is simple in what it offers and it does its food well. These might not be "traditional" spiedies that you would get at Sharky's or Lupo's but these spiedies taste better. I feel like they took the bland idea of a spiedie and updated it by putting it on pita or using different sauces. It's a simple thing,... More

I have always heard of the spiedie sandwich, but other than using the marinade I see in my local markets in Connecticut, I have not had the pleasure of having one of these sandwiches. I see across the street from my hotel a "Spiedie & Rib pit" joint, rated well on TA, so it was go time. I go into... More

The Spiedie Rib Pit is the place to go if you want to taste the best spiedies and fries in the Triple-Cities area.
