Went there tonight with a friend. We eat out quite often in the Utica Area, yet haven't had a chance to go here yet. Very updated Covid19 compliant. I ordered the Tuscan Chicken and she ordered the Salmon and Shrimp plate. The waitress (? Ashley?)...was great and she sat us by a window with a good view. After we ordered she brought us garlic knots with very good, homemade marinara sauce. We didn't have to wait very long and our dinners were brought out = excellent presentation. The taste of everything was delicious. The prices appropriate. Will definitely return. Looking forward to warmer weather when the patio is open.More

Ordered a pizza 30 minutes before closing at 8:00pm and told it would be 25 minutes. Arrived twenty minutes later and door was locked and pizza was cold. Only the microwave made it edible. Consider another place - lots of better options.

While enjoying a mid-day shopping lunch at North End Pizza & Tap, I asked the bartender if he could recommend somewhere I could get a Thanksgiving dinner for 1, takeout... and he suggested Tavolo. So I called, and placed an order. WOW!!!! I just finished...half the meal... and put the rest aside for tomorrow. It was fabulous!!!! The best Thanksgiving dinner I've ever had from a restaurant... and probably, one of the best I've had period!!!!! I live alone, so didn't want to bother with the whole cooking thing... and most places were offering "family dinners". It was difficult to find "Thanksgiving dinner for 1". Based on the taste, food quality and quantity.... I would highly recommend this restaurant! I will definitely go back... and take friends.More

The food was very well prepared; tasty sauces and combinations. My partner wanted veal parm and only chicken parm was on menu. I asked if veal was possible and it was. I had a salmon and shrimp dish, with a tomato cream sauce. The salmon...was a little over cooked, with edges overdone. Tasted good though. The risotto served with it was ok, but a bit bland. On my last visit I think it was better. I had greens for a starter; they were tasty but too hot (spicy) and I wish I was given the option for medium or mild. It was overpowering. I asked for grated cheese to calm down the heat, but it never arrived. Waitress asked if I wanted a 2nd glass of wine, so I asked to see wine list again, but it never came. Waitress was not very attentive and forgot the noted requests. Very pleasant though. The servers supporting her seemed a bit clueless. This was my third time at this restaurant and I want to love it because the food is good, but I still find the atmosphere cold inside. We sat outside and the road noise was pretty bad. Why not put the patio in back? I miss the warm atmosphere of old Chesterfields; since the inside is so big, how about taking a large corner and making a cozier space, more like an Italian grotto or cafe? Just an idea.More

We went to Tavalo on a Saturday night after a Hamilton College football game and called at 4 for a reservation at about 6 pm for a group of 13 people. We started out with 7 and kept calling back and adding people and they...handled us with total grace though we were nightmare customers. They put us in the bar and pushed together high top type tables because of the size of the group. The bar is large and the vibe inside the restaurant is well designed modern/spare. It has a nice energy. I saw one reviewer who said “too loud” and I would say it is not an intimate place for sure, especially in the bar but it isn’t overly noisy. I also saw someone complain about parking and I don’t get that at all. Big lot and a rear entrance make it a breeze. Our service was outstanding. We ordered appetizers for the table, stuffed long hots, arancini and Utica greens. Long hots and greens were very, very spicy. I loved it but it might have been too much heat for some. This isn't my favorite place in town for these Utica specialties but they are fresh and hot always. The arancini was pretty good as well. Not my favorite in town but still very good. We ordered lots of different drinks and everything came out quickly including water fill ups and bread. The college kids had the cheeseburger and one thought it was the best he had ever had. I had the monkfish special for the night and it was outstanding. Cooked properly with a delicious side dishes. Hats off to the management, our group was very hard to handle and they did a great job with every detail.More

The parking lot seemed full but there was plenty of space. Even half-full it was very loud. Good service. Large portions of interesting food almost properly cooked. (Both the Risotto and the pasta were slightly under-done.) The sauce was a bit overwhelming - hard to...taste the interesting flavors underneath. Good service.More

RUDE - RUDE - RUDE Staff was rude from the moment we entered. Saw at least 3 different waiters. Never refilled water, never got a second drink. Wait staff needs some SERIOUS training. Don't even know how to properly serve food. Food okay, but you...can get just as good and even better elsewhere.More

We took a road trip from Amsterdam to try this restaurant. Glad we did. Very nice surroundings with lots of tables both indoors and on the patio. Our server Kylie was on point with drinks apps and dinner. We began our feast with Tavolo salad...Greens Morelle coal fried chicken wings and something called Chicken Lolly Pop soup. It was all well prepared. The Salcicca Pizza looked great and was good, not great. The chicken Riggies had a nice flavor and the quantity was just right. We also had fried calamari which was very good. The only downside of the night was the acoustics. Very loud. However, when I am eating I"m always focused on the food. We will return.More

Good food, quick service, outdoor seating is noisy because the cars aren’t obeying the speed limit. A little on the pricey side for a Caesar salad $14 bucks and the chairs are quite uncomfortable so if you have any cervical spine issues eat inside.
