It's hidden behind a big ugly beer store and across from the big Walgreen's and its parking lot. Pass through a dark bar area (no AC) and the terrace overlooks a side channel of the Erie Canal. smallish venue with small patio on canal. Excellent food a little better than standrd BBQ offerings. sides are very good. wish the place was a little larger but sesating isn't usually a problem.

We take our boat out on Tonawanda Creek. We have stopped three times at Smoke on the Water for fantastic barbecue. The portions are more than generous and the prices are very reasonable. This restaurant sits on a busy corner in Tonawanda and has the worst parking lot but the food and service were very good. The exterior is no indication of how large the restaurant is. I live in South Florida, visiting Buffalo. Just ate there, had the best blackened grouper I have ever had outside of the south, tasted just like home.

We went here on a Friday so it was a little busier then normal but we still didn't have to wait to long. The service was good and the food was excellent. We will absolutely go there again.

We enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches, with excellent spiced fries, as well as toasted ravioli with shredded beef apple straws with an excellent sauce. The waitstaff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Thank you for not asking "are you still working on that?". During the meals there was great recorded music played over the PA system.

First off, this isn't a great restaurant for large crowds. Our group didn't get to sit together. We are from Texas so I was skeptical about eating BBQ in New York. The chefs and owners of Torches Restaurant have now opened a new BBQ place right on Ellicott Creek, in the City of Tonawanda. They use homemade rubs, a water churned smoker they builit themselves, and plenty of inovative recipes. JJ and Kevin Richert , Owners and Executive Chefs of Torches Restaurant on Kenmore Ave. in Buffalo, and their creative brother, Mark Richert, are the creators, owners and chefs. There is outdoor seating on the 2 story deck, tables inside, along with a one of a kind bar. All food is of exceptional quality!!!!!
