My mother-in-law celebrated a milestone birthday turning 80 years old and my in-laws celebrated their anniversary in early August. We (the kids and their spouses) wanted to do something special! Recognizing we could not make a trip to celebrate in person because of the coronavirus...pandemic, we called The Postage Inn for a special take-out order. At our request, they prepared shrimp cocktail, lobster tails, filet mignon and sides of salad, roasted vegetables and dinner rolls. And they baked a beautiful birthday cake for dessert. If that weren't enough, they also included a flower arrangement in a glass vase to complete the celebration. According to my mother-in-law, the entire meal was delicious and the portions generous - they enjoyed it tremendously. Thank you to everyone at The Postage Inn who was involved in ensuring that my in-laws had a fantastic meal to celebrate their birthday and anniversary. In these trying times, it's difficult to find silver linings but this take-out celebration dinner will be remembered for a long time. We hope to dine at The Postage Inn the next time we are in town to thank the staff personally.More

After having lived in Rosendale for a year and a half now, we figured we were definitely overdue for a 1st time visit to The Postage Inn. Now this was just a few days ago, hence Takeout only due to the whole Covid-19 garbage going...on. Anyway we placed an order for the Cowboy burger and the Wings which were made with this incredibly good homemade rum-based glaze. I placed the order with James over the phone a few hours prior, anticipating the possibility of being busy for takeout on a Sunday evening. Upon arrival to pickup, it was not busy at all. I walked in and there was a very friendly and smiling James with my order all ready to go right in front of him on the counter. He struck me s the kind of guy who really enjoys what he does and has pride in his work (for a change), and also appreciates his customers genuinely. Another thing not often seen nowadays so it went a long way in my mind. As for the meals, they were fantastic! The wings were absolutely bursting with flavor and were thick and meaty, but also crispy on the outside. The burger was the kind that you always hope to get, but rarely do. The burger itself was thick and juicy and took up the entire bun with no room left over. It came with cheese, a big fried onion ring and BBQ sauce on the side. The piece de resistance was the bacon. Plentiful, very high quality in taste and texture and crisp! I have not one criticism about the food itself. There were also a side of slaw and hand cut fries, which are my favorite. One of the things I was most impressed with was that our personal requests regarding how the food be cooked were not only honored, but done just as asked. The latter in my experience is EXTREMELY rare, so I was very pleasantly surprised. In this case, we asked for well done fries, very crisp bacon and well done wings. We got everything we asked for, gratefully. It's not the cheapest place around, but then again, at the risk of using a cliche...you get what you pay for. So while you might have a slight case of initial price-shock, that will quickly fade away as you begin to experience visually and physically the eating experience here. Between James' professionalism and appreciation and the food itself, there is no doubt we will return and are looking forward to trying other menu items here. Overall highly recommended.More

We weren’t that impressed food was ok. But they were out of stuff . Someone wanted Bloody Mary no tomato juice. Most restaurants at least say happy birthday even give a little something. Prices were high. Seems to be a better place to go on...a holiday for dinners.More

My Mom & stepdad lived in the area and we (and a lot of the rest of the family) have been dining here over the years! From a super sandwich or yummy appetizer in the bar area to a dinner in their dining room. We...also have had them cater parties here! Good food, friendly waitstaff and the Chef/owner comes out to say “hi” as he knows us!!More

Organization function. Buffet style. Variety of appetizers was very good, fried ravioli, meatballs, filled pastry puffs, mini egg rolls, stuffed clams, cheese and vegetables. Main course choices were chicken, beef, or fish, with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I had chicken and beef, and my wife...had the fish. We enjoyed our choices, and I went back for seconds. Cheesecake for dessert was great. Waitresses handled the crowd well, and there was plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the meal.More

Had our department Christmas party at the Postage Inn. Food was ok, bland and not very hot, a little warm at best some was cold. Sorry normally if food was better would have given better rating. Could be because we had a large party of...90 plus people.More

When we got to the Postage Inn we were not really impressed. We sat and waited to get service in a dinning area that was cold with a bar in the next room. When we got the menu we were disappointed as we had been...online and the items we wanted were not on the menu. We ended up having a burger that was fair. We would not go back. It may be a good place to stop and get a drink. But eat some where else.More

Stumbled onto this place by accident. It was halfway between where I live and my son. Turned out to be a perfect evening. Nothing fancy just great food. Shrimp cocktail was amazing as well as a steak. Other family members had salmon and scallops all...great. You also have a sandwich and Burger menu. You looking for wholesome good food at a reasonable price great place recommend highly.More
