Came here during a break from touring Fort T. Really cool retro decor. It was busy during lunch so we sat at the counter. The turkey club and salad did not disappoint. Fries were very good. I did not need a plate of potato chips...too...lol Good service and quick lunch to get back to Fort T. Street parking available.More

We stopped here for lunch while visiting the Fort and Mt Defiance rather than eat at at the Fort cafe. I'm glad we did! Food was delicious and service was great. Portion sizes were perfect for lunch - filling without being overstuffed, as we still...had more sightseeing to do. Can't beat the prices! Lunch for two was $15 plus tip.More

My club sandwich was very tasty and fresh, plus loved the decor and the service was top notch. A great lunch at a good price, well worth a visit.

First, the positives: the food was excellent, hot, and a great price. The atmosphere of a 50s diner was a really fun experience and the decor was great as well. However, the staff did not check on us at all and really seemed to want...to do the bare minimum unfortunately. They were very overwhelmed and made us feel less than welcome. There are some seats blocked off due to covid, understandably, but this has been going on for a year and it seemed to really throw them off when people came into the restaurant and there would be discussions and staring and trying to figure out what to do. It was a really uncomfortable meal all around.More

We stopped here for lunch while in town and they were not open for inside dining. We were able to order from the menu and sit at the small outdoor tables on the sidewalk. The server brought our food out to us so there was...very little contact. We tossed our plates in the trash when we were done. Food was good, the overhead awning was nice on a hot day.More

Like stepping back to the 60's - in a good way. Basic diner food, lunch and breakfast only. Food was good.

We chose to eat here for lunch prior to visiting Fort Ticonderoga. Given the level of high reviews we figured this would be the place to stop. We should have stopped elsewhere, anywhere. We arrived around 145 in the afternoon with a healthy number of...people eating - normally a good sign in my eyes. Sitting down it took a bit to get anyone take a drink order. To get someone to actually take our order took abnormally long as well. But we sat and waited. We watched a gentleman next to us express particular displeasure on finally getting his food and leaving in a huff. And we waited. I watched the line of tickets build up by the cook area. Kids got restless, the wife began wondering how long this was going to take. But we waited still. Nothing moves fast at this place. The actually cooking area the cook was working off looked to be a little bigger then a large cake sheet pan. But there wasn’t any drive to push these orders out. After an hour wait with no check in by any wait staff, our food finally arrived. We’d have left earlier but by watching the cook we had determined our food was finally being worked on. Now reading the reviews here, the food was suppose to be top notch, particularly the praise for the Patti Melt which both my wife and I got in part because of those reviews. It was an average Melt, nothing particularly special and we both noticed, frankly unseasoned. I pitied the folks coming in as we left, because they were in for a wait.More

Wife and I have been told about this little gem a while ago. We live in the area and are always looking for a pleasant place to eat close by. As you walk through the door you think you are going back in time. The...music was reminiscent of the 60’s (we are baby boomers). The restaurant had memorabilia hanging on the walls of that time. They have dinner specials on Friday and Saturday’s. We stopped in on a Friday evening for their dinner special which was baked chicken half with a rice and veggie side. Dinner special under $9.00 for half a chicken. The chick was flavored and moist like it was roasted. The rice side was not just plain rice it had a special mix of select veggies. Not out of box. Topped dinner off with strawberry shortcake with baking powder biscuits. Dinner for two with drinks and desert was $25.00. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast and lunch menu is also very reasonable. We definitely plan on returning to this gem of Ticonderoga.More

We had such a good time sitting at the counter watching all of the activity at this classic diner - it was so amazing to see how well organized and busy the staff were the whole time we were there. It was obvious that there...was a mix of locals and tourists (like us). The food was very good - we had the daily special - and very fairly priced! Look forward to going back when we pass through next time.More
