I venture up to the Catskill mountains at least once a year, while my destinations can vary from year to year, I always carve out some time to stop in to Last Chance for a meal (and some candy). The menu is solid, much of...the food is a warm hug in edible form. There is a massive variety of bottled beer available, as well as a large variety of cheese to choose for the platter. I always order way too much food, the only complaint I have is that everything is so desirable and I am only one person, it's hard to exercise restraint. In addition to the restaurant portion, there is a store counter in which a wide variety of candy, local honey, maple syrup, cheese & beer to go, and of course Last Chance merch is available. During non-Covid times, there is a bar attached to the restaurant in which live performances take place. It's one of my favorite spots in the world.More

This is NOT a restaurant anymore!!! It is at best a mediocre counter service "grab and go". There is no longer any waiter service. When you get there, you stand in line behand 5-10 other patrons for the chance to give your order to only...one person equipped to take orders behind a plexiglass screen. When you place your order, you better be prepared to order ALL drinks you will want for the dinner. Otherwise, if you want a second beer, it's back in line standing behind 10 other people for the opportunity to order another beer while your food gets cold. How is this safer than being seated at your own table???? I am a physician, this does not make any sense. We ordered Fondue for 6 people. They always give you a trivial amount of bread, no where near the amount of bread you would need to eat your fondue. We had to go back in line TWICE to get extra bread, each time waiting in line as our fondue burned to a crisp. So much for a family dinner, I spent the evening standing in line as my family sat, unable to enjoy their company or their conversation. This place "stinks". I recommend strongly going elsewhere, there are plenty of real restaurants still serving customers in the area.More

We come up to Hunter once a year and Last Chance is always the highlight of the trip! The cheese fondue is so good we come back multiple times per weekend. We came up and even in the craziness of COVID, we were happy to...see the quality has remained the same! The staff is so helpful and welcoming, making the experience that much better! If you’re in Hunter, don’t miss your chance to seize the cheese! (From the girls in the matching say cheese sweatshirts)More

Good food, lot's and lot's of beer, wine choices are good, ambience unique, and the bar , which is uusally opened on weekends is one of the great bars of upstate NY.

Great selection of not only entrees, but also pub favorites that are served in a very unique turn of the century atmosphere. Their list of international and domestic bottled brews is by far the largest I’ve ever seen, and they also serve mixed drinks. There...is a section of the restaurant that features an old school candy shop where you can also purchase a variety of cheeses and other artisan style edible items. Whether your staying in Tannersville or just passing through, this place is worth checking out for dining as either a couple or as a family. We’ve done both for many years and have never been disappointed.More

We first stopped in and purchased two cappuccinos and sugar free chocolate (I am a coffee snob but I really enjoyed cappuccino) After we saw other people getting their food (which looked awesome) we decided to order. I had their burger and it was pretty...great. They also make some pretty great bloody Marys. Would most def go back! COVID-19 Precautions: staff wore masks, as well as almost all of the patrons. They had outdoor and indoor seating. They provided sanitizer where you placed your order and the bathrooms were clean.More
