Best homemade ice cream in CNY

Best hard homemade ice cream in CNY! They have a ton of flavors and it is always delicious. They also do great ice cream cakes that they have on hand in the valley location or you can preorder one.

Always worth it

Stopped by on a Saturday evening. The employees were friendly and efficient. Sea salt in a waffle cone was the perfect choice.

YUMMY Ice Cream!

We made a detour on our way home from Rochester for some ice cream at Gannons - and it did not disappoint. The selection of flavors was overwhelming - we were challenged with picking one - so my husband and I picked two flavors each! Mind you the amount of ice cream was crazy! The chocolate was decadent! Well worth the detour we made!

No indoor parlor. Hot and ugly parking lot seating. No atmosphere.

If you’re in the mood for great ice cream this is it. But if you’re on a date or just want a relaxing time to enjoy sitting in a cool parlor with AC, well they turned that into storage. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Now you’re stuck eating quickly melting ice cream either in the ugly parking lot seating or your car. Half the time there’s not even enough seating or the sun is blasting you in the face. The experience used to be perfect. Please open up the parlor again. Store your stuff somewhere else. Your customers will be much happier! Until then, NOT recommended for date. It used to be cool. Both meanings.

Never Again

We decided to order hot fudge sundaes today. We get them home and surprise. They were not hot fudge at all and had so many chopped up cherries and little ice cream, you could not eat it. It was disgusting. So we call and they say ya they can refund the card. We go back and they tried to give us a gift card instead of a full refund. I had to educate them on what the law says that they must refund the entire amount back to the card. Then they claim they can't. I told her I could show her how and she calls the boss in who again does not want to refund us. I asked if they wanted me to call the AG's office and he then says refund the card. This is the second time they cheated us and the last.

They should not be number 1 anymore Arctic Island and Cold stone creamery both blow Gannon out of the water sorry to say Gannon stopped making there own so its the same as 1000 other ice cream stands which isn't that great anymore

Big portions yummy ice cream

I spent a weekend in Syracuse and Gannon's popped up as a suggestion for dessert. Usually when ice cream places make a cone, each scoop added to cone is smaller. Well Gannon's each scoop is just as huge as the first! I can easily down 3 scoops, but with their huge portions, 1 scoop is enough. So 2 scoops for me!

Must Go To Ice Cream Shop

When I visit the Syracuse, NY area Gannon’s Ice Cream is a must! Gannon’s has the best tasting ice cream and so many flavors to choose from. I’ve never had a bad experience no matter what flavor I order. Other relatives always visit Gannon’s when in town, and we usually stop in more than once. Gannon’s has tables inside to sit down and enjoy your ice cream, or a walk up window to order to go or sit outside. The place is always packed, but the lines move quit quickly. In the mood for a great ice cream cone, Sunday, shake or soft serve? Stop into Gannon’s and you won’t be disappointed!

All Natural Home Made Ice Cream, Need I Say More?

I ordered the Maple Walnut. Heaven on a cone, rich thick goodness. There were at least a 1/4 cup of the biggest walnuts, that I had ever seen in my scoop. Delicious. Nice size portion for the price, we are talking homemade with all-natural ingredients and nothing artificial. I wanted on the line for about 10 to 15 minutes. I would have waited for 20 -30 minutes, no joke. No seating, order and go. I did see people at tables and sitting on large stones outside. All spots were taken, took the ice cream back to my car. No biggie. The servers have a college fund jar with their names and the names of their college. Remember to leave a tip.

Worth the wait!

On a Saturday evening in summer, this place was very busy. There are so many flavors, presentation options and additions, that it makes it difficult to choose, which can slow the line down. We had the Milky Way (just like the candy bar, but better with plenty of caramel and chocolate) and the Lemon ice cream. Both were excellent, smooth and creamy! Return visits are definitely in order!

Ice cream cake

We often stop at Gannon's for soft ice cream whenever we are in the Valley but this is the first time we ordered an ice cream cake from them. It was delicious and so beautifully decorated. The birthday celebration was on Easter so I told them to make it seasonal. The decorations not only included flowers but also included jelly beans, chocolate eggs and Peeps. The decorations were not only on the top of the cake but also on the sides of the cake. Don't settle for an ice cream cake from the grocery store--get a personalized, delicious, freshly made ice cream cake from Gannon"s.

Not much flavor to the ice cream. Cookies and Cream had strange flavor and Black Cherry had a weird after taste. Better options in Syracuse. Staff was very nice though.

Ice cream fanatic!

I LOVE GANNON'S! I was a student at Syracuse University and would make trips to Gannon's all year no matter the weather. They have A LOT of hard ice cream flavor options available. Along with their hard ice cream they have soft serve, milk shakes and blended ice cream treats. The actual restaurant is nice too because you can either order outside or inside and there is plenty of seating. The artwork on the walls is really fun and crazy! You absolutely have to go and try their ice cream!
