We were here for a birthday celebration and enjoyed the food and service. The menu is creative (i.e. Eggplant Noodles, Smoked Brisket and more) but you need to check out the facebook page to find out daily specials. This means the food is very fresh.
They will also make some accommodations/substitutions on sides. For example, I wanted smashed potatoes with my salmon meal and they happily obliged.
They do not list their wines on the website but the "by the glass" is a nice variety.

We visited the Cider Mill a third time for our anniversary last week. We sat outside on their new patio. Service was great & our meals, Roasted Salmon & the Crispy Tofu Stir-fry were delicious. With side salads, one beer & 4 glasses of house wine & one dessert the total was just over $100. They even gave us a complimentary split of champagne as my wife mentioned our anniversary when asking for a patio table while making the reservation! Class.

Our party of four enjoyed dinner at The Cider Mill in late April. Three of us had the spring risotto with cod. Excellent. My husband had 2 appetizers instead of an entree: salmon sliders and lamb lollipops. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. Service was attentive and professional. Our server, Rebecca, was very knowledgable about both the food and drinks menu. (It is frustrating to ask a server their opinion about a dish, wine, or drink and have them say they haven't tasted it.) Rebecca enhanced our dining experience. The Cider Mill accepts reservations, and you can make them online. Very easy.

My husband and I visited the Cider Mill for his 42nd birthday after reading many positive reviews. Our meal started with arincini and empanadas appetizers. The arincini was fine but forgettable, the empanadas tasted like they came from a freezer bag and had been warmed up.Â
Â
We ordered the smoked brisket and chicken thighs for main entrees, both came with mac and cheese. The smoked brisket came out overdone and slathered in sauce which did little to make up for the poor cooking. The chicken thighs were supposed to be marinated in cinnamon-sugar; they tasted bland with nothing of note in their flavor. Perhaps the mac and cheese was made in house, but it tasted the same as boxed mac and cheese. The chicken thighs also came with Split Rock Greens, which I'm guessing are a take on Utica Greens (a local specialty, which my husband loves), however he took one bite of the Split Rock Greens and said they were disgusting.Â
Â
We rounded out our meal with dessert, as they had creme brulee, which I love, and the waitress raved about their blueberry and basil pie. The creme brulee came out barely edible, with the hard top so thick I could barely break it, and the interior was a runny mess. The blueberry and basil pie was virtually tasteless, save for the basil overtones, making for a very odd combination when mixed with the blueberry filling.
Â
To end our experience, we were given the check, which had a note at the bottom that prices on the menu and the receipt were "with a cash discount" and that if we were paying with a debit or credit card, there would be an additional 2.99% charge. During this time of COVID, most places are encouraging customers to avoid cash. Additionally, it would be more appropriate to have this notice on the menu itself, not surprising customers after they have completed their dining experience.

Online reservation didn't have option to take our name. Wine list is lacking any choices. Deviled eggs had no taste, even with the unnecessary bacon bits and burnt cheese crisp. Boneless pork loin was cut too thick for the rest of the plate. Substituted fries for the sweet potato "smash" it is served with. The veg was mushy (zucchini mix.) The salmon farfalle was drowning in too much sauce. The salmon was crumbled so small it got lost as did the vegetables. Much too rich a sauce for the quantity. The creme brulee was a good size serving and the one good item of the meal. The overall menu has no sense of direction. We will not be back.

Did not offer white zinfandel or Stella beer. Service was terrible, asked for ice with water and it never came. Took exactly one hour for the entree to arrive - We opted for a Caesar salad instead of an appetizer - good thing or else our dinner would have taken 2 hours. We saw other tables wait for the food to arrive as well. Food was plentiful but not spectacular for the price. It was quite noticeable the staff was inexperienced and that management did not know how to handle large parties of 6 or 8 efficiently.

We booked our online reservation 2 weeks ahead and it was well worth the wait. Our server Ashley, was friendly and attentive. The entrees were both 10's. One was the thick pork chop with mashed potatoes and homemade apple sauce, which tasted like apple pie. The other was the veal short rib with mashed potatoes. The veal melted with a fork cut. Outstanding dishes!
Finished off the evening splitting the night's special of a cookie crust and fruit, the Perfect ending.
Make sure you book on-line ahead. Yes, like most restaurants today, there is a transaction fee for credit cards, so bring cash.

Four of us went during the holidays. The calamari appetizer was perfection, a
little crispy it was delicious. All four of us enjoyed our meals. Salmon, ossa buoco, prime rib and rigatoni. We will definitely will go back. I understand they cater also and we were checking it out for my son's wedding. We will definitely use their services.

I love this place. The menu is not extensive & your food doesn't arrive immediately but that told me that the food was freshly prepared. The wait staff was very friendly but not intrusive or fawning. Although the food probably would be considered new American, there was a little something for everyone & even the standards had interesting accompaniments. My only knock is that the parking lot is rather small & being that the place looked like it was fully committed, the person doing the driving had to park across the street & even then had to hunt for a parking spot.

The Cider mill is a unique restaurant with options that you don’t see in most places. The menus appeared to be seasonal, with ingredients associated with the season. The bread was excellent and we tried artichoke hearts baked in some kind of barbecue sauce. I had the pork chops with apples, flavorful mashed potatoes and asparagus (excellent). The Prime Rib was the only thing that wasn’t cooked well. Actually, the steak was cooked TOO well. The Pumpkin Chicken Alfredo was really good as well. The service was pretty decent, the meals themselves took a little longer then we would have liked, but not unreasonable. I would come again!

Stumbled upon the Cider Mill because our usual go to was closed for the Holidays. Glad it was. Cider Mill is amazing. The food is excellent and the presentation was gorgeous. I fly for a major Airline internationally. I was just in Munich Germany and had pork roast with potatoes and cabbage. The Cider Mill topped it in every way. Pork chop was tender and delicious and the red cabbage was amazing around creamy mashed potatoes. I ordered the salmon over wild rice, cranberries and pecans. Squash and butter sage topped it. The sage was crispy and delicious. I have literally been to some of the best restaurants in the world and the Cider Mill was absolutely exceptional. Our server Ashley was one of the best servers we have had in a long time. She asked if we wanted to space everything out or all at once. Very accommodating considerate and compassionate. A truly wonderful human being. Try the Cider Mill. You won’t be disappointed. We will be back.

I realize a lot of restaurants are adding surcharges these days due to the pandemic however reputable establishments advertise/notify the customer of the surcharges ahead of time and not as a surprise, hidden charge that comes unannounced with the check at the end of the meal. Very disappointing. The food itself was just average, those of us who ordered steaks found the cuts of meats were not superior ones and the food in general was bland and not well seasoned. On the plus side the restaurants was set up to comfortably accommodate social distancing and the portions were large. Better than fast food but if you're looking for a special sit down meal this is not the place.

In response to Olivia Manger Hazard. Yes I did arrive early because of a tight schedule and we were allowed to enter the restaurant early. You mentioned that we were offered drinks while we waited. They were not free drinks and you did move the table .There is a draft from the back room that isn’t heated, and there was an elderly lady in our party ..The service part of this restaurant is great , the food was not. I don’t appreciate your reference that is was looking for monetary reimbursement. I didn’t want to complain about the food but after contemplating I did. Yes you could have sent complimentary certificates for 2 dinners , instead you choose deflect and blame me for not mentioning the overcooked food . I might have dined again at this restaurant even purchased a bottle of overpriced wine but your attitude as a manager is unprofessional.

This was an unexpected surprise. We came here for dinner during Syracuse University parents' weekend. What an amazing meal. This is a true family owned and operated restaurant and everyone we spoke with -the manager, the waitress, etc. were wonderful.
The food was delicious. We ordered the sweet potato gnocci for a table appetizer and the burrata cream, pear and carmelized onion foccacia which was amazing. The main courses of the duck breast as well as the lasagne were all homemade and delicious!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It was perfect from start to finish.

Food was prepared deliciously and presented well. Creative drinks and selected variety in wine list. Outdoor atmosphere was inviting. Service was lacking and inattentive for amount spent which left us disappointed.
