The owner must really not give a flying you-know-what about this place, and it shows. The bouncers are total @$$holes to limit the amount of work they actually have to do any given night, which clearly NEVER includes cleaning anything in the place. Last time I went here for a drink after a holiday lunch with some friends from work... More

This place is a piece of work. Let me paint a picture for you: typically they ID you multiple times (and if you are out of state expect to get hassled). The Jameson is watered down. Last call happens 15 min early bc their clocks are all set ahead. If you are with a group and start to have fun... More

Taps is the worst bar in syracuse. I have lived here my whole life and its been this way forever. It used to be a funeral parlor and nothing has changed. Literally,. Do not go there under any circumstances

Just as previously stated, I had a beer at alto and went looking for a friend at this "establishment". The only thing the guy at the door said was I had had enough and he wouldn't let me in. I didn't understand what he was saying at first, and as soon as I questioned him another guy materialized saying you... More

Yes, most of the negative reviews here are true. Sadly, these types of places are allowed to exist. If you want a two dollar pint of Genesee or Pabst you'll be fine. They also have a couple of video games and darts and pool. There are two TV's usually airing popular sports. There is free popcorn. Just recently I met... More

They don't even let me in because I am "too messed up" when i am completely sober. If they do let me in, they beg me to sit down and to have my jacket on the coat rack. I will never try to go back there because they do not deserve my money. I just want to sit, relax, and... More

Not a restaurant, they haven't served food since the first year they opened. Regulars are territorial, and they will vibe the unfamiliar. The belligerent, staggering, reel down the steps, appears to be the exit style of choice. There is a very nice sushi restaurant with a full bar (a little pricey) right next door, and there are several other places... More

I know it's been stated before but it's really a dump bar. It smells and the staffs are very cold and rude. It has that cowbell hanging on the door. Our friend just arrived, opened the door and the bell clang loudly. They then unpleasantly looked at him and said: "you've had enough for the night". Our friend said he... More

Taps is a dive that serves liquor. If you live nearby and can walk to/from, that's a bonus. I have a feeling that is the exact crowd that keeps Taps in business. Drinks are average price, average quality, below-average variety - cheaper than armory square, cheaper than Alto Cinco across the street. If you are already driving/cabbing to go out,... More

Requires 2 forms of ID for no other reason than their inability to recognize a fake ID, I have to imagine. 4 people in their late 20's needing 2 forms of ID is preposterous. didn't bother to try ever again, but just looking in from the entry way, its obviously a filthy dump anyway, would likely have turned around and...
