We were traveling through and wanted something other than a franchise restaurant. This place is old and a little dingy but their food and service more than make up for it. My husband had the fish and chips- he said it was really good and the chips were especially fantastic. I had snow crab legs and they were fresh and... More

Staying in Syracuse for a few days on the job. Checking out the local eateries; finding some very good food. Unfortunately, it was NOT at the Clam Bar. This is a small and, judging by the number of people, popular place. First thing you need to know is, there are no accommodations for handicapped persons. If you are in a... More

I had the Butter Crumb Haddock. It was very thin for Haddock and had far too much liquid on it. Haddock in most restaurants in thick and flaky. It was mushy.

Family owned with reasonable prices and good seafood. Full bar steamed clams and good menu. Atmosphere was like eating waterside. Waitress was nice and knew menu by heart.

This suburban Syracuse Institution is located near the airport. Clams, prepared any way you like them, are the stars here: on the half shell, steamed, fried or in a chowder. Other seafood and shellfish include oysters and shrimp and haddock, all fried. Burgers and cheesesteaks along with salads Cole slaw and fries. A full bar. Good solid food tasty with... More

Unless you are a smoker or in a hurry, wait for a table inside. We sat outside only fifteen feet from Rt. 11 with car exhaust, noise and most likely lots of dust. The soft shell crab appetizer was excellent. Mahi mahi, broiled haddock and steak sandwich were also great. Excellent menu and service was very nice.

When we have passed through Syracuse over the last seven or eight years we have often stopped at the Clam Bar in North Syracuse This place is always busy - Monday nights or Saturday nights it doesn't seem to matter. The Clam Bar is a bit of a time capsule - the crowded atmosphere is a return to the 50s.... More

Nice little local bar and restaurant. The food was good. We especially liked the raw clams and broiled scallops. Good happy hour specials. The bartenders knew all the locals by name. Homey atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

We have visited this restaurant for over 25 yrs. Never had a bad meal. Best sea food in upstate N.Y. Haddock is their specialty. Light and flakey with all kinds of toppings. Great fresh salads and baked potatoes. Scallops are great and steamed clams with garlic and wine sauce are delicious. It is cute inside but is small. Try to... More
