Stopped in on Labor Day Sunday for lunch. I believe there is a new owner. Time to update the atmosphere. This place has looked the same for 25+ years. Had egg drop soup which was good. Pork fried rice lacked flavor and the chicken lo mien was tasty. Good menu was good as was the service. Not rushing back.

Used to love China Road. Food was inconsistent. Soup was good. Dumplings and chicken were only so-so. Interior of restaurant is looking quite worn.

I've been enjoying Simon and Jenny's wonderful restaurant since 1996. Just went back today, and I am 99% certain it has changed hands. Entirely new staff. Quality of food is completely different, and inferior: Simon's superb home made vegetable dumpling are gone and replaced by frozen garbage, a new variety of fish consisting of skin and bones but no meat... This is just the best Chinese food in CNY . Forget the atmosphere and just enjoy the food. You can get whole fish , which is very hard to find anywhere in Syracuse.

Great menu, friendly service and good prices. Huan Empire may be gone from Syracuse but very good Chinese food is here in Mattydale. As good as it gets here in the Cuse.

I also have been eating at this restaurant since the time it opened. I cannot express my joy whenever I go in and am treated to Sour Cabbage Fish Fillet, Soft-shell Crab, Da Lu Noodles...and i could go on for many lines. When my customer from Guangzhou China were in town for three weeks a few years back, they made... More

I absolutely love the food here! I am extremely picky when it comes to Chinese food. I have yet to find an amazing chimes restaurant anywhere around this are until now. Absolutely by far the best. Very fresh and extremely tasty. You will not be disappointed!

We have been dining at China Road for several years. The surroundings are not fancy, but the food is consistently prepared so we know what we are getting when we order. Always good.

Fresh ingredients, clever use of spices, variety of dishes, excellent service. This place is always a treat and it is very inexpensive as well. Have often gone here and never been disappointed. If you like Peiking Duck, this place has it and it's as good as the meal I had in Beijing. Simon, the head chef is from Taipei, but... More

This small restaurant is small and has an old-fashioned decor, but it has unbelievably personal service, and amazing true-Chinese or American-Chinese food. Each dish was very generous and served in a way easy to share with everyone at the table. Prices were very reasonable. There were few sit-down diners there the night we stopped (a little late for dinner time),... More
